In 2007 Bloom Studio Owner, Salem Hicks, found herself unhappy with the quality of extensions. After 14 years of experimenting, styling and trying to create beautiful, long, and full hair, Salem finally found a satisfying method. Natural beaded row extensions, an hand-tied method that uses micro-beads as anchor points and sews tracks of hair to the micro-beads, uses minimal points of contact and creates a seamless blended look.
KEVIN.MURPHY combines quality and integrity together with their product lines and business practices. Integrity in the effects their products have on the health of their customers, integrity in the effects their products have on their global footprint, and integrity in manufacturing these products in a socially conscious way so that they leave local economies better than they find them.
The New Life Campaign began the first time our founder, Salem Hicks, crossed the threshold of a brothel in September of 2015. At the time, she was an intern for a nearby NGO and her job was to lead teams into villages. This specific visit gave her the opportunity to feel the devastation of sexual exploitation in Haiti and offers a glimpse into the desperation women in Haiti feel.

Casey is my hair guru, goddess, genius, and all the other good words. I have gone to her for MANY varying colors and she even saw me finally grow out my bangs for the first time in many years. What a joke for a potentially good business. I've come to Bloom studio twice and thought and talked very highly of them. That is until the other day when I received a message from the owner of Bloom studio (Salem). I scheduled an appointment and I was unable to show up because I am on the other side of the country with my mom because her dad has been sent to the hospital for a heart attack. Just like any other sane person would not think about your haircut appointment when you have family that need help. But the owner of Bloom (Salem) decided to send this message out to one of her customers

Emma is amazing. I called them after driving by the business. No referral at all. Taking a chance I was prepared for the worst but hoping for the best. I'm a travel nurse who hasn't had a hair cut since 2019. I had bleached my whole head white, and dyed my money piece rainbow which left A LOT of residual blue in my hair.

While the mission of Bloom Studio is wonderful and the environment to create a growing space for women is ideal, the professionalism is poor. Salem never checks to see if the haircut is even, she just cuts without sectioning each portion. She also cuts the hair DRY, which is a no no. Even individuals who don’t cut hair know you that you never cut it dry. The prices are outrageous, just got my hair done and paid 85 for it and the woman who did it had to correct what Salem messed up, one side of my hair was 2 inches longer than the other. I paid around 203 for a poor dye job and uneven hair cut

OMG I'm convinced Salem is the hair version of Jesus. I came in for a corrective color (after a consultation) and Salem hooked me up. She explained everything she was doing and had the attitude of "we'll keep working until we get it right." Oh my goodness did she get it right. I definitely found my new salon.
