Andy started Action Lock & Key, Inc. in June of 1980 in a small shop on Lake St in Roselle, IL. With one truck and his Dad to help him answer phones for the first year, Andy established himself in the area. Within 5 years, he was able to hire a man to work the counter while he did the outside service calls.
Often his little brother Vinny would ride along learning the trade from Andy. As the business continued to grow, Andy took on another young man who he also taught the trade of locksmithing. Business was starting to get better and the economy was booming. One of his favorite sayings is: "When the economy is good, people are locking up their stuff and when the economy is bad, people are still locking up their stuff!"

Our location at 800 W. Lake St. Suite 122-124 in Roselle, Illinois contains over 3,000 square feet housing a retail store and warehouse facilities. State licensed, bonded, and insured, Action Lock and Key has a full-service staff and four fully equipped vehicles to serve our ever-growing customer base of over 6,500 residential, commercial, and municipal accounts throughout the Northwest suburban community.
Action Lock & Key Inc. has one of the only full-service shops in the area. Look around and try to find a locksmith that you can bring something to. This allows you to save time and money. Our staff can cut keys, change your lock to work with new keys, fix your lock problem or show you what is needed to do so.
Most places that cut keys only carry fifty of the most common keys made. Action Lock & Key Inc. inventories over eight hundred different types of keys, and a large inventory of the most common ones. If you only need one or even a hundred keys, Action Lock and Key Inc would be able to cut them for you.

Had 3 locks re-keyed at my place of work. Third lock, Joe was able to fix it enough to use and replaced the insert part of the lock ($20), it is a door we never really use. Excellent customer service. Rare now-a-days. Did all locks without disturbing our working environment and was done quickly. Will be contacting them again, when we get new doors.

We called Action Lock & Key when we were experiencing issues with a deadbolt lock. The gentleman who answered the phone was professional and courteous. We were able to get an appointment the next day. AJ arrived on time and he was very knowledgeable and fixed the issue quickly. We couldn't be happier.

Reasonable price, and very friendly customer service. I ordered a steel door replacement. Got schedule for estimate in couple days. Got the quote in about 5 business days. Got schedule and door installed by the next week. Very promptly response to customer request and did very nice installation job. Action Lock & Key did what promised on time..

I have been coming to this place for about 26 years. Thankfully, I don't need its services more than once every few years. But whenever I do, I always think of Action Lock and Key first. My last experience is much like other visits. I have a little crisis, and one of the guys performs magic. My last visit, I had a key break off in half. Part of the key was stuck inside my motorcycle locking gas cap. The key was removed, and somehow, a new key was made from it. Service is great, the guys behind the counter are awesome, and prices are very fair.
