In 1990, Nan and Dave Anderson created Anderson Hallas Architects, PC an architectural firm in Golden, CO. Their architectural work in preservation has garnered national awards. Leadville is now benefitting from their experience and passion as they hope to leave something greater than themselves for this community.

With the discovery of gold in 1858, the population in Colorado's Rocky Mountains surged. The Old West was built on the backs of determined individuals experimenting in frontier community, a history of bodies, but usually it's the gunslingers, miners, trappers, and cowboys who are recognized. The old saying goes: First the miners came to work in the mine.
We love weddings! Chocolate cake, mason jars full of wildflowers, the finest outfits, a sturdy arch, sunset leading to a canopy of stars, the crowded dance floor, toasts to enduring love. Weddings come in all shapes and sizes, and our in-house wedding planner will help your wedding go off without a hitch.
You may have found FREIGHT by looking for a barn wedding venue in Colorado. Why do we all love rustic barns? The old world craftsmanship helps us feel rooted and surrounds us with beauty without pretension. All of us seeking to step into marriage want to come to it with humility; what better place than a gorgeous barn for your Colorado wedding?!

Cabins were excellent, exceptionally clean. The dog loved the heated floors. The kitchen space allowed for us to cook oatmeal and ham-n-eggs for breakfast and then head out to Ski Cooper. Leadville was a friendly community with some excellent local dining establishments. We are already planning our return trip next winter.

We had our wedding at Freight and did a stay-cation. The Freight cabins are adorable, convenient, and clean! It was right near the main venue with plenty of parking, mountain views, and walking distance to downtown. We stayed in 'Emma' cabin - the only downside was that our door facing the east was missing the window blind so it was super bright early in the morning; we visited our friends staying in the other cabins and they all had them, so it was just a one off! If we need another stay-cation, we would definitely stay again. We love the Freight family!

This was a wonderful place. The cabins are radiant heat and the windows open to allow fresh air. The venue was quite nicely appointed. The staff is very accommodating. The reason this facility did not receive 5 stars is because the mattresses were very soft and uncomfortable. The staff assured me that the mattresses would be replaced by year end. I would go back after new mattresses.

FREIGHT is the most incredibly beautiful space, and the FREIGHT family is absolutely the best! We hosted our wedding at FREIGHT back in July, and rented out the cabins for our wedding party. The venue itself - authentic rustic feel, but with modern high quality and a stunning view out over Turquoise Lake and the mountains beyond - is truly something special, and is unmatched in Colorado. We initially fell in love with the physical space (and the cabins!), but soon came to realize that the team working at FREIGHT makes this place even more uniquely amazing. It was a pleasure to get to know the wonderful

I held a retreat for my dental business and Elsa and Kiersten were excellent at hosting us and accommodating our every detailed need. The Cabins were a perfect isolated place for us to focus on our detailed agenda. Great architecture and style. This is a great value and would recommend all day long.

A really perfect stay in Leadville at FREIGHT and the S.L.umber Yard cabins. The pictures don't do it justice. The cabins are in excellent condition and are very beautiful (these aren't prefab tiny homes). Charcuterie boards on site + cocktails/beer/wine. Elsa (operator) was very friendly and accommodating. The site is pet friendly and offer dog beds and bowls in the cabin + ample space for dogs and kids to play. Great stop!

Incredible experience from start to finish! Every detail was thought through to perfection when creating both the event hall and the cabins. The cabins are super cozy, with thoughtful decor, a piping hot shower, a convenient kitchenette and the most comfortable bed imaginable. The event space is truly gorgeous, with tall ceilings, an open floorplan and tons of character. I've worked in events for 20+ years and it is one of the most warm and welcoming spaces I've visited. Love their concept of being The "Yes" Place as they are open to hosting all sorts of events, and I have

Fabulous stay up in Leadville thoughtful modern cosy design. We had drinks and chatted with staff upon arrival, be sure to checkout the shed out front with all kinds of hidden treasures and insta worthy photo backgrounds. Bed was comfy and we listened to some old records in the room. Close to everywhere you want to explore around town. And they had cute amenities for our dog. Highly recommend this place for your stay in Leadville!

On a recent road trip, my wife and I were fortunate enough to stumble on Freight. What an amazing place.
The main building is a completely restored and renovated freight depot. The local tourist train still runs past it in the late morning and early afternoon. The room is spectacular. Open and airy. It's used often for weddings and community events. It's also where you check in for one of the cabins and the property.
Each cabin is uniquely named after one of the local legendary ladies of the night of Leadville. They're nicely appointed with a comfortable bed, music system
