Services
Dr. Kruse creates a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere so he can better treat his patients' foot and ankle problems. In addition to traditional podiatric services such as bunion, hammertoe, and ingrown toenail care, Dr. Kruse makes custom orthotics, treats sports injuries, and provides diabetic foot care and wound care.
Dr. Kruse is adept at treating toenail fungus, an infection underneath the surface of the nail caused by fungi. Fungus often makes the nail darker in color, gives it a foul odor, and is capable of spreading to other toenails, the skin, or even fingernails. The fungus can also spread to other people.
Dr. Kruse makes custom foot orthotic inserts, used to treat complications from diabetes, plantar fasciitis, hammertoes, heel spurs, arthritis, and other foot disorders. Orthotics allow the feet and lower legs to function at their highest potential and can decrease pain, alleviate pressure, and increase stability in an unstable joint.
More than three million people in the United States suffer from ingrown toenails, a condition in which the corner or side of a toenail grows into the flesh. Ingrown toenails usually affect the big toe and people with diabetes are at greater risk of complications. Yes, if they are affecting your comfort.
Hard, grainy growths that appear on the heels or balls of the feet are typically known as plantar or palmar warts. They are noncancerous skin growths, caused by a viral infection in the top layer of the skin. A wart should not be confused with a corn or callus. If you think you might be suffering from warts, make an appointment with Dr. Kruse for a diagnosis and full range of treatment options.

Dr. Kruse and his staff are WONDERFUL! Dr. Kruse is personable, knowledgeable and downright funny! Of course I felt totally self-conscious about someone looking at my feet, but I was immediately put to ease. My everyday "dress" orthotics fit great into all my shoes I wear to work, and my sport orthotics fit perfectly into my running shoes and really do the trick! Have gone back several times and will keep Dr. Kruse in my "go to" guys folder for medical care.

I visited Dr. Kruse at his Evanston location (1007 Church). I have lived for years with bunions (had surgery on both 35 years ago... they redeveloped over time) and fungal toe nails. Dr. Kruse reviewed all the options for care of both conditions (from bunion surgery to comfort strategies, from medication and creams to laser). He spent an unhurried amount of time and his consultation helped me decide to forgo any treatments. I'll be glad to see him again if my condition warrants more care.

Dr. Kruse was very friendly and professional but most important is that my feet feel better than they have in years after he treated them.

I am a professional photographer and consequently on my feet a lot. My feet were tired and I was in tons of pain at the end of each shoot until I started going to Dr. Kruse. He is truly the best in his field. My feet are a testament to that!
