Looking back, they can truly say that a lot of things happened for a reason. Beginning as a delivery route truck driver and working his way up to branch manager, Felix learned how to successfully lead a team of people in sales and marketing. Cheryl began decorating cakes in the early 1980's and spent some time working for others in the bakery business and gift shops.
Louisiana's favorite, the Original Fresh Strawberry Cake is a cool, refreshing cake that immediately gets peoples attention. The Ambrosia Doberge Cakes have eight very thin layers of cake with a wonderful variety of flavors! Birthday Kit Cakes are very popular! These cakes usually represent a child's favorite TV show or character from Sesame Street to Power Rangers.
At Ambrosia we thrive on serving the best quality products. What sets us apart from other bakeries is how we split the layers of cake and use a filling of your choice like buttercream icing or fruit fillings for example. Some of our cakes like the Fresh Strawberry Cake and many other Specialty Cakes are split twice and has filling between all four layers.

They used to be a lot better for king cakes. Which is really disappointing. Now, they are even outperformed by grocery stores (e.g., Rouses). They no longer have a full selection of king cakes ready to buy. You have to preorder them now, and then they can vary in size. Mine was half the size of why they used to be and barely covers half the tray (pic included).

My most recent experience with this place has convinced me to avoid it in the future. I ordered a pie--not customized or anything, just an apple pie. I arrived at the date and time it was scheduled for pickup. They said the pie was not ready. I was told to come back later. Later meant that I would have to find a way to leave my job to pick it up. To add insult to injury, while at work, I received an email confirming that the pie had been picked up. I spoke to someone about this, who apologized and assured me the pie was now ready for pickup and had not been given to someone else. Finally, I got

Got a breakfast burrito, hash browns, a coffee and a mini fruit tart. The breakfast was pleasantly surprising, it was huge for the price, the hash browns were very good. I was charged extra for hash browns, that I thought the website menu said were included, but over all still a great experience. Staff was very friendly, food was great, and everything looked and smelled amazing. Didn't even intend to buy a fruit tart, but they were so cute and looked so good I couldn't help it!

"It comes as is..." This sums up Ambrosia Bakery perfectly. I recently went in to pick out a birthday cake for my daughter. After selecting a cake from the freezer, I asked the employee if they could remove a cherry off the top of the cake when they wrote happy birthday on the cake. The employee returned with the cake, and told me that they wouldn't remove the cherry because cakes are sold "as is". When I asked the lady at check out if she was one of the managers, her response was "nope"...didn't even ask if something was wrong.

I don’t usually post bad reviews but this one was necessary. We ordered a cake for my baby shower 2 weeks prior to the shower, left them with our inspiration and requests for the cake. Even spelled the name out and told what color we wanted it in and everything was read back to me and confirmed that it was correct. Well, when my in-laws went to pick up the cake the day of my shower, our requests were not met. There was no name on the cake and the greenery that we got charged $20 extra to add to the cake, I could have done myself. The cake was sent back to the bakery to get the name put on it

I have ordered from Ambrosia Bakery for over 15 years, and I have never been disappointed!!!! So when I decided to go over the top for my daughter's 7th birthday after not having a birthday party the previous year due to COVID, I immediately reached out to Ambrosia.
My daughter had just started horse riding lessons after two years of begging when she was too young to start....So I was determined to make it special. I planned a horse riding party at the Purple Reins Farm located in Stl Gabriel. It was everything you could dream of as a little girl who wants a horse
