Downtown Union 76

I have been going here for more then 10 years with a large variety of mechanical issues. They have always been great at explaining what the issues were, and what options were available. I could not recommend a mechanic shop more.

I absolutely want to recommend Downtown Union 76. I had a leaking radiator on a newer vehicle which is kind of unheard of! They got me in right away (within a couple days). Their prices were super fair and I saved almost $300 versus going to a dealership to have it fixed. Dave was such a sweetheart and offered to pick up and drop off my vehicle at… my work because I was unable to leave to pick up/drop off. Super accommodating. Very sorry to hear about the passing of Dave. He will be surely missed. I'll definitely be back for any future car repairs. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The best around. Hands. Down. I no longer live in Alpena, but often save my repairs for when I'm up north because even after being away for 20 years I still haven't found a repair shop that even comes close to the customer service I received at the DTU 76!

There are multiple vehicles that we have had serviced at this shop. Even though they are busy, they have always fit us in as soon as they can. The problem is fixed. These are highly rated mechanic that take the time to listen.

I had an appointment for 8:00 a.m to get my brakes done. I called at 1:00 the girl at the desk said she would call me right back with an estimate. I called back at 2:00, and she said they hadn’t even looked at it. I don’t understand such poor customer service. I will never use this station again.

I love this place! Super honest, friendly and reliable. They always do their best to fit me into their busy schedule. I’ve been taking vehicles here for years.
I have had recalls on vehicles, taken them into the dealerships and told I need a additional 900+ in repairs. I brought it home and took it to 76 with the list of repairs the dealership said I needed, turned out I only needed $126 in repairs. This has happened many times over the years and I refer people because of this.

An excellent repair shop. Friendly and knowledgeable repair technicians that do the job right the first time. For any kind of vehicle repair needs, give them a call. Very reasonable prices and their work is guaranteed.

Dave is always a great guy to work with! He has always been very fair and honest with us every time we have taken a vehicle to him and let us know what's what before going into any costly repairs or if it should even be done. Highly recommend!!

Dave is just a wonderful guy, everyone is so nice and since I don’t know anything about cars Dave explains everything and doesn’t take advantage of the fact that I know nothing. I highly recommend this place, I have a lot of car troubles and they’re always so nice and take care of my car

Hi, my name is Curt VanEyk and my wife and I are traveling up here on vacation. Our truck broke down and we were lucky to be close to the Downtown 76 repair shop. They were swamped but Dave made room for us and got our truck back on the road within 18 hours. I wanted to let you know as they were awesome, accommodating and great to work with. They could have easily taken advantage of our "out of town travelers" situation, but instead treated us like friends and neighbors. I would recommend them to anyone!

Excellent all around service center. We have had routine maintenance done as well as upgrades to the SUV. Dave and his staff do amazing work. His prices are unbelievably competitive, and the wait times are short. He tells you what needs to be fixed, and he tells you what doesn't need to be done. Very honest and reliable.
