Started by Dave in 1978, he was joined by his wife Leslie in 1980 and both have degrees from The Ohio State University in Horticulture. Many years ago, we decided to grow plants that local nurseries did not stock. The first criteria for choosing plants was whether or not they were hardy for our area--not just able to survive, but they had to thrive!
They also had to be pleasing to the eye and to have at least one characteristic that made them exceptional! The fact that other garden centers overlooked these wonderful plants also made them attractive to us; we could fill a much needed niche in the market. That was over 35 years ago and we are still excited about these unusual plants!

For over 40 years, Dannaher Landscaping & Nursery has been committed to helping clients enhance their landscapes and outdoor living spaces with unique plants. We have access to these unusual plants because we specialize in propagating and growing rare and unsual plants that are easy to grow and hardy in the central Ohio and surrounding areas.
Our talented professionals can create a design that is unique, functional and low maintenance just for you. We can show you a wide variety of plants that offer color, texture, size and shape that you won't find anywhere else---and most of it is propagated and grown at our farm in Delaware, OH. And because the plants grown locally, we can offer them at a very reasonsable prices.
Dave is a "hands on" speaker. He much prefers teaching you and showing you how to do it rather than just "talking" about it. Grafting, in particular, is a topic he loves to teach! Currently, we are working on a list of presentations that will be available in the future. Please contact us for more information.

Great people, great work! I love the landscaping they did for us. I purchased a design from them. They were willing to work with us to swap out plants for those I wasn't a fan of. Dave brought several other plant options with him when he came so I could pick out different ones to substitute for any I didn't like. the end result is absolutely lovely, and the pricing was great too. I will definitely work with them again.

Met the lady at the Chadwick sale looking to purchase a tree. She was pretty condescending and short with my wife and I as we asked questions. After talking with her about a particular tree for 15 min someone else walked up and picked up the tree, she didn’t stop them and said to me, “ you’ll have to work it out with them.” I’d stay away. Very sad they treat people with disrespect.

The Dannahers have been growing some of the finest specimens and cultivars in central Ohio for decades. When you buy from them, you know that the plants are going to thrive because they have been raised here, not trucked in from some other zone and crammed into the 1 gal. pots. Their selection of dwarf conifers, Japanese maples, dogwoods, and varigated trees is truly unique. I would call them my best kept secret, but I love their nursery so much that I can't stop recommending them to friends and family!
