Cosmos Marentis built the business by specializing in HVAC service and installations for the banking industry with special emphasis on computer rooms and trading floors.
In 1990, Cosmos retired as President of Sound A/C and was succeeded by Steven Marentis/President, Robert Gulmi/Vice President of Construction, Richard Stankiewicz/Vice President of Service and John Stamm/Director of Operations. Today we continue the trend of doing business with banking and financial institutions in addition to the entertainment, hospital, retail, telecommunications and other industries.

Our projects range from one-room duct modifications to cooling towers, chillers, ice plants, complicated tenant fit-outs, all degrees of base building infrastructure upgrades and new construction.
Sound AC is at the forefront of LEED construction in the New York metro area. Our commitment to responsible system design & construction is reflected throughout the area. LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices.
Our technicians take continuing education classes to ensure they are up to date on the latest technologies. Our in-house Director of Safety visits different sites daily and is an added resource for our field personnel. Audit several job sites monthly to identify any potential hazards and to assist management staff with safety issues or concerns.
Sound Refrigeration & Air Conditioning's Service and Maintenance Department offers various types of service contracts to keep your system running at optimal efficiency. We believe that educating and training our personnel is the key to staying ahead of our changing industry. Our technicians are required to maintain current refrigeration licenses, and are routinely enrolled in HVAC courses and seminars to further enhance their working knowledge.
We are a Local 638A and Local 21 (Northern NY) Steam fitting company that specializes in providing quality service and workmanship for all our clients' needs. Our staff of Mechanics, Sketchers, Superintendents and Managers are all well trained, experienced and dedicated to completing projects in a timely and professional manner.
