Services
When you don't have the time or the ability to visit your doctor's office for medical care, you can turn to telehealth. The exceptional team at Metroderm DC: Medical, Laser, and Aesthetic Dermatology Center offers telehealth to new and existing patients, giving you the ability to videoconference with your doctor, receive medical care, and be prescribed medication while staying in the comfort of your own home.
Patients are seen by appointment only. Please inform the staff if you feel that you have an urgent problem when you call to schedule an appointment. If your insurance company requires a referral please bring the referral or ensure that it is in our office prior to the date of your appointment.
If you are a new patient, or have not had a visit in the past year, please arrive at least 15 minutes early to fill out a questionnaire and allow the staff time to make a new chart for you.If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment please let us know at least one business day ahead of time.

We are happy to answer your questions, but may be unavailable when you call. In that event we ask that you leave your full name and a telephone number where you can be reached. Calls in the morning are generally returned between 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Calls in the p.m. are returned late in the afternoon or the next day.
You will receive a written prescription during your office visit. If you need a prescription refill, please call with the name of the medication and the pharmacy name and phone number. Prescriptions will be called in within 24-48 hours of being authorized by the doctor. If prior authorization is required by your insurance there may be an additional delay.
We participate in a number of insurance plans. For those plans, we submit the insurance claim form and ask that you pay any required co-pay and for any service that would not be covered by your insurance i.e. cosmetic procedures that are not medically necessary as determined by your insurance company.

Dr. Perkins is excellent! He has a great bedside manner and always listens completely. I feel he understands my derm issues, and mindset toward my health. He offers good observations & suggestions. His exam is complete and explanations are clear.
The front desk staff is much more pleasant than past, making this quite a nice visit.

Dr Stollar doesn't waste a lot of time with niceties, but takes a straight-forward approach to tell you what to worry about, and what not to. I appreciate his matter-of-fact approach and being able to get into the appointment and out again on my lunch hour. The staff is his office seems to be a lot friendlier and more relaxed since the retirement of a former colleague doctor in the practice and the bringing on of a new one.

Dr. Perkins is the best; he has immaculate attention to detail and will make sure that you walk out of his office feeling as though you got the care that you wanted. He always has time to listen and collaborate, and I’ve been nothing but extremely happy with his level of service. He goes above and beyond and truly cares about his patients. Would definitely recommend seeing him for all your dermatology needs.

Impressively timely and efficient! I was seen on time for my check up, had a mole removed (for aesthetic purposes), and was out within 30 minutes. Dr. Stolar was very kind and helpful. There was absolutely no pressure to return for repeat appointments or any attempt to upswell next on cosmetic procedures or products. This is an extremely professional practice.

I too have been going to MetroDerm for years (about 12 years). Dr. Perkins is as good as they come! He is funny, and really takes his time with his patients. I have also seen Michelle for laser treatments and she, too, is quite good. However, like other people have posted here, the front office staff leaves a lot to be desired. If they're not outright rude, they're quite abrasive and frequently cut me off before I can finish a sentence. Also, because they rush to cut me off, they don't listen to the service that I'm requesting and often have to repeat myself. I continue

The big pharma Botox and filler reps were high-heel clicking in and out while I was waiting for my first visit. Too bad skin problems take a back seat to the revenue building cosmetic procedures that this practice does a lousy job of explaining. I decided to try something for laugh lines but they never called to explain the procedure, risks or expectations, so I could not, in good faith, have these doctors touch me.

I've had 3 horrible experiences at this office and will not be returning again. The receptionists at the front desk are not only unprofessional and rude but also lack communication and organization skills needed in order to succeed. I cannot begin to describe the level of attitude and immaturity that they have expressed over the phone and in person. It is unbelievable that this behavior is acceptable in an environment like this.

I've lived in several cities across the country, and as a result have had several dermatologists. Dr. Perkins is one of the best I've come across. He was recommended by a friend and also referred to by my GP doctor. Dr. Perkins is a great listener. It had been several years since I had seen a dermatologist and therefore had a list of issues I wanted looked at. He took the time to look at everything and tell me what it was and how to treat it. I've had several procedures for different skin spots, and all the results I've been very happy with. I could not recommend Dr.

If you've ever visited Reddit's skin care advice section this will be the type of place you are looking for. Dr. Saurabh Singh was amazing! The only down side is he's only at this location on Fridays otherwise he is at another office in Silver Spring. The office itself took me a minute to find because the entrance is kinda obscured by the little cafe next door but I called them once I got to the area and they walked me through it. Dr. Singh was super patient. He isn't one of those doctors that just talks at you and rushes you through your appointment. He took the time to listen

This rating is only for Hanna the esthetician since I haven't visited the dermatologist yet.
Hanna is super knowledgeable and can basically assess your skin when you walk in the door. She's very informative and it's clear that she loves what she does. Hanna is definitely someone you want taking care of your skin!
