We are a local, family owned and operated family business specializing in the production of dairy products from our farm located 15 minutes from Sioux Falls. We have 3 ice cream and retail locations within Sioux Falls and are excited to bring our Ice Cream and other fresh, homemade food to the historic Falls Overlook Cafe.

Falls Overlook Cafe is located in the heart of Sioux Falls, overlooking the iconic Falls Park. The Cafe is the perfect setting for corporate events, social events, private dinners and weddings. Falls Overlook Cafe is managed by Stensland Family Farms and is available for rental all year and most days of the week.

We hosted our Groom's dinner here the night before our wedding and it was absolutely perfect! The staff and managers were great to work with and the place was still lit up in January from the holidays and looked stunning with the lights. Highly recommend using this unique, fun location for a celebration/event!

They have a terrific selection of unusual (local flair) ice cream flavors to choose from. There was also a nice variety of serving sizes & container options. The staff was welcoming, courteous & patient in providing little sample spoons of the many flavors. (Try before you buy!) Prices were a bit costly, however our family had no concerns, as it was intended to be a great treat to enjoy while walking & viewing the falls. Public restrooms were clean, & quickly restocked with toiletries when made aware of a need. We would certainly do it again!

$$ The food here is tasty and the view from the outside patio is tremendous. I'd probably give it 4 stars if not for the fact the prices seem on the high side and that not a single outdoor table had an umbrella. We thought it'd be nice to sit outside and eat but without any table shade, after a few minutes we had to go inside and eat. Otherwise it's convenient and good eating alternative to enjoy the park.

Although everything on the website indicates they are open, the kitchen was closed when we went in at noon on a Sunday. They had premade sandwiches that were disappointing.
They have park style seating outside. (Be sure to bring wipes for the table since they are not maintained)

Delicious ice cream at a lovely venue. Staff needs training on how to greet and deal with customers. We had three young children very excited about the diverse selection of flavors and the young man scooping ice cream did little to mask his impatience with their questions. There was no line to justify his attitude. In fairness, he did apologize when we pointed out his off putting service. It put a damper on a fun family outing.

This is a very cute cafe. We only tried their ice cream today. We had a chocolate cookie and salty caramel. They really do have very nice ice cream. I guess the only down side is that it's quite pricey for an ice cream. This place is very spacious and of course a nice place to sit down and enjoy the view, hence the name overlook cafe. Highly recommend!

** Caution**** This place is a 5 star operation in normal times I'm sure. Unfortunately, these are not normal times as we all know. The food was amazing, the view is spectacular, the ice cream is second to none, but their adherence to covid-19 protocol was virtually nonexistent on Thursday July 30 2020. Sure they have the floor stickers, signage and hand sanitizer for employees and patrons, but not one employee was wearing a mask during our visit. At least Ryan behind the ice cream counter was wearing gloves. My traveling companion stated she would not have stopped here for lunch had she

As a wedding planner, I could not be more in love with Fall Overlook as an event venue. For my couples who truly want to showcase the best of Sioux Falls, I always bring them here. For a small wedding reception or a rehearsal dinner, it is unmatched. Stunning views of Falls Park, gorgeous and historic architecture, and so great to work with.

What a horrible experience! Go there for the beautiful view but not the food or service. Food is overpriced and prepackaged. Gal at the cash register overcharged me for our food and then couldn't figure out how to give me a credit for it so she wanted to charge me again! No thanks, so then she had the nerve to remove our drinks which we had fetched ourselves and basically chase us out! Just an awful service experience!!!!
Update: I still have not received a credit for $36.91 for a meal we did not receive!!!!

Haven't been here for years. Used to be great. But under new owner, I won't be back. I know they're frequently closed for private parties, so I called in advance and was told "open until 9 pm." Arrived to be told that after 2 pm they only serve appetizers, salads, and ice cream. REALLY?! We found a real restaurant downtown.

I decided to check out Falls park on my way through Sioux Falls, and I'm glad I did. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous. I was very hungry upon arrival, and thankfully this place was just a short walk from my parking area.

Love this place. The falls and the historic brick buildings jutting out the rock over the rushing water are must-sees if you're in Sioux Falls. This cafe gives you the opportunity to view it all from a patio, with a beer in hand, napkining tasty Reuben dressing off your lips. The food is great, the interior is welcomingly high-ceilinged and beautifully restored, the service is warm and outstanding. Absolutely awesome.

We ordered the Fish Taco ($8) and a Veggie Taco ($8) both were soggy and served in cold flour tortillas and unappetizing.
For sides we chose Brazilian Black Bean Soup and a cold Lo Mein Noodle Salad. The soup was not a black bean soup at all, but basically a clear broth soup with chunks of vegetables--it didn't even have any black beans in the broth. I asked if there was a mistake, they said that's how it comes.
