Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make The Eye Center - VisionSource Asheville the leading provider of vision care products and services in Asheville. Dr. Ashlin Mikolich earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a focus on Ecology at Penn State University.
After taking a year off to work as an optometric technician, she then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she specialized in primary care, contact lenses, and ocular disease, with a special interest in low vision services.While in school, Dr. Mikolich completed an externship in primary eye care in Mars Hill, which seeded her love for the mountains and western North Carolina.

It was a very productive session. Got to the probable cause of my condition and made a game plan moving forward. Ben was his usual thorough self and we talked at length to assess my presenting symptoms. He is making the necessary referrals and will be monitoring my progress. The staff is very cordial and professional. When it comes to caring for my precious eyesight, I can't think of a better place to go.

Great and amazing detail on exam and amazingly friendly front desk staff. Super knowledgeable staff the Doctor really knows his stuff and cares about the knowledge of the patient. This was my very first eye exam, and I couldn’t be happier. The staff were very professional and helpful. I felt well cared for and well educated about my eye care needs moving forward. On top of that, their Covid protocols were impeccable. I would highly recommend The Eye Center to anyone who needs a referral.

I’ve seen a couple other eye doctors in town, and haven’t felt settled with someone I want to work with until now. The whole team is really present and easy to be with and the doctor is wonderful. They are dialed in and served me exactly the way they said they would. Really easy parking and access for being downtown as well. I feel like I’ve found my place!

This is by far the best eye doctor I have ever been to Dr. Mikolich is amazing! She is super nice and helpful. She did a very thorough eye exam. She answered all my questions and she has great experience showing me things about my eyes I never knew before. The staff is also wonderful they are caring and very knowledgeable! I would 100% recommend!!

I was a client at the Eye Center before, but the practice has changed hands. I recently went to three local outfits to price an exam and new pair of lenses with my existing frames. (A) The people at the Eye Center were the least friendly and engaged of the places I visited. Unlike the other two places, I wasn't even invited to sit down. (B) They gave me inaccurate information, and I had to ask to get any detailed information about the lenses. They told me their lenses had a UV coating -- but polycarbonate and Trivex lenses do not need a UV coating as the lens material itself absorbs

Love love love this place! I recently had three Ocular Migraine scares and the staff got me in to see the doctor right away. She conducted the most comprehensive eye exam I have ever had - was an hour and a half! Staff is very professional, friendly and followed up with me a couple of times after the appointment. Unfortunately they are out of my Vision Plan network, but I gladly paid the $68 eye exam for piece of mind. Highly recommend!
