The Riley family began paving Tennessee over 50 years ago. Today, John Riley and his staff continue the tradition of providing quality Mid-South paving services and great value. We're very proud of our work, and are honored to tell you about our company. Riley Paving started operations way back in 1954, when John "Chili" Riley, born in 1936, built on his construction background by learning all about paving techniques.
Having learned the value of hard work picking cotton as a boy, he dedicated himself to working just as hard perfecting the paving trade. Chili had some great and loyal employees and the company quickly grew. After growing up in the business (29 years now), I eventually took over for Dad, and now my son has joined me in our family business, too.

Asphalt is one of the most economical paving materials. Asphalt provides the same strength and durability of other pavement surfaces, but is more cost-effective to deploy and maintain. A driveway paved with asphalt can last as long as 40 years. Asphalt is durable, resilient and low-maintenance.
Having a parking lot or driveway paved with asphalt not only looks beautiful, but is a strong and durable-all for a much lower price than other paving materials.New Asphalt Installation involves preparing the area to be paved to provide a stable sublayer, then paving a layer of new asphalt over the sublayer.

Chip Paving, also referred to as "Chip Sealing" Paving, is the most economical method of street and pavement resurfacing. It is commonly used by municipalities, retail centers and office complexes throughout North America. Chip Paving is comparable to other resurfacing methods in durability and effectiveness, but costs far less (25-40% cost reduction vs. pavement overlays).

The owner came out to visit and was extremely personable. He quoted us a great price and we told him we would call to schedule. The next week we began reaching out with no luck. We left multiple messages and finally reached him on his cell phone. He promised someone would call that day to schedule. Two more weeks have passed. How do you operate a business when you wont even call people back?

Wow! I wish I had read the below review before I hired Riley Paving, because it describes my experience perfectly. I paid Riley Paving to put down a tar and chip driveway for my house in East Memphis (ignore the city by my name -- I logged into Yelp with a Gmail/google account), and it washed out within a week. We primarily dealt with Pat Gorman, who is apparently a relative of John Riley. He proved to be very unresponsive, and full of excuses. Despite repeatedly promising to come fix the drive, he has failed to do so for 10 months. Now I am trying to track down the company to get someone to

I contracted Riley Paving to pave my large driveway with their recommended Tar and Chip product. It began to fail immediately! After several requests, Mr John Riley came out to inspect the work. He agreed it needed to be replaced and prom aides to do the work within weeks. After virtually a year, they continue to promise within weeks, but it never happens. They are personable, and always nice; but never show up to make the repairs.
Through this time, I have been told that the work crew advised John Riley on the day of the first paving that conditions were too wet but he told them to do it anyway
