I fell in love with photography kind of on accident. About half way through my freshman year at the University of Central Oklahoma I realized I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I started browsing through the electives and thought it would be fun to take a photography class, but when I went to enroll I discovered only photography majors could take photography classes.
I recommend booking your newborn session when you are in the middle of your second trimester. I only take on a limited number of newborns each month to ensure I am free to accommodate them all within the needed time frame once they arrive. All newborn sessions take place in my Carbondale studio and are scheduled on Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's at 10:00am.
I want to help you capture every precious milestone your baby reaches in their first year from the first smile to those first few precious steps. This package includes a newborn, sitter (6-7 months) and cake smash session (save $100). The minimum order requirement applies to each session. We can design the session together; pick the colors, theme, decorations and everything else!

Working with Katie was a pleasure! She's responsive, flexible (we had to reschedule twice due to weather), and friendly. She does a nice job guiding the poses and was a hit with our 2 year old (who even invited her to our house when we were done). The final photos are beautiful, she knows how to create beautiful compositions even when it's mud/dead season. Highly recommend!

We had a session with Katie today and she blew us away! She was so professional yet so fun...had a beautiful studio with lovely props and was SO great with our 4 year old and 2 month old. We did pics inside and at some outdoor spots she knew. Lovely scenery and she was really conscientious of our timeline and constrains with the infant. Highly recommend!!

My fiancee and I absolutely loved working with KatieJ Photography! We met several years ago in the valley she calls home, and we were so fortunate to meet someone that truly captured everything wonderful about that area. We had an amazing time with Katie. It was cold and wet, but the kids were happy and smiling because she was engaging and fun throughout. She captured amazing images of our crew and we are so very thankful for her patience, professionalism, and talent!
