The Malaga Inn, a circa 1862 Mobile, Alabama hotel located in Downtown Historic District is the only Boutique Inn of its kind in the state. The Malaga Inn was originally built as twin townhouses by two brothers-in-law when the war was still going well for the South. Construction on the townhomes began shortly after the State of Alabama passed its secession ordinance in 1861.

The only reason I'm giving it three stars and not five is because the issue I have now that I'm back home. I loved it there it's beautiful. Everyone is friendly and it's clean. Service was amazing! However I kept getting awoken with a feeling of someone standing over me. I thought I saw a woman at the end of the bed. Now I am back home in Florida. Strange things are happening here. Doors opening by themselves. I don't believe it this stuff and I am starting to believe now. My son has a new friend a little boy name Robby. Only my son can see him. Has anyone else experienced this after their stay

The hotel is a beautiful, historic building in a great location. The lady owner/manager is extremely rude and always has been. This could be a great establishment, but will never happen with the way they operate and treat people. Two stars only because of location and history of the hotel. Rooms are decent.

This place is beautiful! The staff are all friendly and very helpful. We were sad to hear of Frank's passing, he gave us a tour last time we stayed and he was very informative and so friendly. We met Roosevelt (aka Nuki) on this visit and he was an absolute blast. He kept us laughing our entire stay. We can't wait to stay again....hopefully in the haunted room :)

Located in the heart of beautiful, historic Mobile, this place is a hidden gem! This is not a cookie cutter chain motel. This is a clean, well-appointed inn with so much character plus all the amenities. The wood molding alone is breathtaking. But the lovely wooden floors, the quaint courtyard, and the lovely young couple who run the Malaga make this a have-to-return-and-stay longer destination. Don’t miss it.

Nice old historic hotel with lots of character but in need of some TLC. Service was good. Be aware, they no longer have restaurants on location and no longer serve breakfast as website states. I would book here again because I found it to be a good value. There are great places to eat within walking distance.
