Solar electric systems offer a simple and profound answer to energy needs: Convert sunlight into electricity and set yourself free from utility bills. Enjoy the full environmental and financial benefits of solar without installing panels on your roof. Mainers can join a local community solar farm, a great option for renters, apartment dwellers, and solar users who need a little more power!
Grid-tied solar electricity (or solar photovoltaic electricity, "PV") allows you to generate your home's electricity whenever the sun is out - you can use the solar power as it's created, export it to the grid and earn credits, or store it in a battery backup system to use in times of need.
With solar, you're protected by rising electric rates and will pay LESS for clean electricity over the system's life, than you would for dirty power from the utility company.Sunlight causes electrons to move through the wiring connecting your home's solar photovoltaic panels, creating direct current (DC) electricity.

This ReVisionista installed a Stiebel Eltron heat pump water heater that uses the same highly-efficient reverse refrigeration cycle as an air source heat pump - and it's powered by sunshine!
If yours is one of the 750,000+ homes in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts that heats domestic hot water (DHW) with an oil-fired boiler, it's hard to ignore the roooooooar in your basement as the boiler fires up to make hot water while sunshine pours down onto your roof; especially in the summer.

We are very pleased with everything ReVision did. The communication was excellent. All of the ReVisionistas that we dealt were very pleasant and helpful. The work was done quickly and with minimum disruption for us. To date, all of our questions have been answered promptly and in a way that we can understand. Now we are enjoying power for only CMP connection fees and the comfort of battery back up in case of CMP outage. Glad we did it!

This July, 2020, Revision Energy installed solar panels and a heat pump in my house in Portland, ME. Every part of this experience was effortless and efficient. Communication was swift and consistent, the company took care of all the paperwork involved in linking to the grid, and set up rebates etc. The installation itself was smooth with a friendly crew, that got the work done quickly and clean up was perfect! I could track my electricity production almost immediately and I now have a consistently nominal electric bill monthly($13.) Thanks Revision!

ReVision Energy installed 46 solar panels on our roof a few years ago. They worked beautifully. This September, we had our first heat pump installed. The heat is very even and remains very stable. The technicians are terrific. They helped us understand everything about the panel's electrical system, and how to operate and care for the heat pump. For the heat pump installation, they did a virtual tour of the building. When they installed it, they talked with us about Covid-19, and how the installation would go so that they stayed compliant with all state regulations. Any time I have called for clarification
