These are some of the most common questions we hear from parents, and the answers we provide: When should I schedule my child's first visit to the dentist? Our team recommends that you schedule an appointment for your child as soon as your baby's first tooth develops. If your child does not have teeth by.
Our Lewisville dental office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience. Preschool children should be seen in the morning because they are fresher, and we can work more slowly with them for their comfort. Children with more treatment needs should be seen in the morning for the same reason.
If the procedure was in the lower jaw, then the tongue, teeth, lip and surrounding tissue will be numb or asleep. If the procedure was in the upper jaw, then the teeth, lip and surrounding tissue will be numb or asleep. Often, children do not understand the effects of local anesthesia, and may chew, scratch, suck, or play with the numb area.
Some children are given nitrous oxide/oxygen - also known as laughing gas - to relax them for their dental treatment. Nitrous oxide/oxygen is a blend of two gases, oxygen and nitrous oxide. Nitrous oxide/oxygen is given through a small breathing mask which is placed over the child's nose, allowing them to relax without putting them to sleep.

Dr. Chambers and Tasha were meant to do this job. It was my sons first time getting a filling done and just from bad experiences from dentist visits myself as a child I was nervous for him. They are absolutely amazing. I was almost in tears of how happy and comfortable they made him. They were so patient and gentle. If I could rate them a 10 instead of a 5 I would. I highly recommend this location and I don’t plan on going anywhere else. We are so grateful for your team!
