Services
We know that our office is only as effective and welcoming as the people who work in it, which is why we take pride in our friendly, well-trained staff members! We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment in a supportive, nurturing environment. We promise to speak candidly with you about possible treatments as well as any risks and associated costs of treatment, and how treatment can address your individual needs.
We will thoroughly examine your teeth and gum tissues along with an evaluation of your TMJ. We will screen you for oral cancer and other abnormal lumps or bumps. Depending on the patient, X-rays may be indicated. If there are any signs of decay or other problems, we will recommend treatment options and make notes of any conditions that may need future observation.
A baby's first tooth typically erupts between 6 to 12 months of age. Gums are sore, tender and sometimes irritable until the age of 3. Rubbing sore gums gently with a clean finger, the back of a cold spoon or a cold, wet cloth helps soothe the gums. Teething rings work well. While your baby is teething, it is important to monitor the teeth for signs of baby bottle decay.

Extended payment plans are also available with prior credit approval for crowns, bridges and dentures.

I have been a patient of Dr. Asam’s for 25 years! He lives up to his name Dr. Asam (AWESOME)!!!
I am not a fan of going to the dentist, but I don’t mind going to him at all. He’s kind and gentle and talks you through the procedure your going through. He also has a great staff. I'm a huge fan of Dr Asam and his staff. They did a great job of answering any questions I had, explaining what needed to be done and why, and helping me keep my teeth and mouth healthy. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist. Plus, I'm a big fan of the Pug statue in the lobby.

Dr Asum and his staff are the most remarkable dental team I have ever had in over 50 years. His clinical research and decisions are superb, often going beyond the superficial, straight dental symptoms to underlying conditions that ultimately affect your teeth. I have never had a dentist that understood that before--using their limited time to just treat symptoms or what they saw in your mouth. I wish I had started with him when I received the first recommendation from a friend--it would have saved me time, money, and pain from working with other dentists and their staff. Dr Asam and team are Awesome! Had a cracked molar and I was bummed to hear I'd need a crown. First time needing "major" dental work. I was a little nervous about the experience, but wow- it couldn't have been easier. Not yucky molds were needed. They do 3D scans for both the temporary acrylic crown (made instantly on a 3D printer) and the permanent crown. Perfect fit. Can't even tell it's there. And best yet, NO pain whatsoever. Thanks for taking such good care of me (and my family!)

Dr. Asam is AWESOME, along with the whole team! They made me feel so comfortable with getting my teeth cleaned and a root canal. Long story short, I am in my Mid 30's and truly have not been to the dentist since i had my wisdom teeth cut out in 9th grade. So 20ish years. The pain I was in after my wisdom teeth I cant explain, honestly that whole adventure was a nightmare. I never wanted to walk back into a dentist office, ever. I made sure that i took great care of my teeth to help avoid it. Weeelllll, 20 years later here we are. At dinner one night i broke a tooth in the back, I dealt with that

I have been with Dr. Asam's practice since I was a kid, now even as an adult not living in Chesapeake I continue to return. There is no other dentist in the area that has the level of skill and talented staff support in one building. If you are looking for a dentist that will be upfront, accurate, and skillful in all his work and assessments then I would highly recommend him for your next visit. If it's your kids first cleaning or if you are someone who has been neglecting the dentist as an adult this is the place to be!
