In the late 19th century, my grandfather, Israel Reese, moved from his native Russia to London to work at a a furniture factory. He honed the craft, and by the turn of the twentieth century, he moved to Philadelphia. In 1905, my grandfather opened his own cabinetmaking business. He was commissioned to make furniture for the wealthy, professional people.
When he delivered the furniture to his customers, he saw all the beautiful collections of furniture and decorative arts in their homes. My grandfather decided to establish an antiques shop along with his cabinetmaking business. In 1945, when my grandparents retired to Ventnor City, New Jersey, my father became sole proprietor and the 2nd generation to run the antiques business at 928-930 Pine Street.

Services
I research and write unbiased, objective appraisal reports with no financial interest in the items I appraise.
My professional analyses, research and value opinions are developed with strict adherence to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), established by the Appraisal Standards Board of The Appraisal Foundation, and to the Principles of Appraisal Practice and Code of Ethics established by the American Society of Appraisers.

I will discuss with a client, either by telephone, email or a personal visit, the purpose of the appraisal and the intended use of the appraisal. Also, if a client wants to sell items but does not want them included in a formal appraisal report document, I will recommend to the client an auction house, dealer or collector who may be interested to buy or take on consignment the client's item(s).
