Services
Founded in 2005, Greene Environmental offers specialized petroleum consulting services as well as Environmental Site Assessments. After working in the industry for several years, Greene said he was compelled to open his own business, which now includes two additional full-time employees at its headquarters in Rocky Mount, Virginia.
After homeowner authorization, Greene Environmental provides the comprehensive services needed to complete a job, including initial inspection of the underground storage tank (UST) to determine if there is a leak. If NO leak is found: Greene Environmental will provide the homeowner with a certification report and there is no further obligation.
Virginia has established the Virginia Petroleum Storage Tank Fund (VPSTF) to help pay for the cleanup of contaminated soil and groundwater. The purpose of the fund is to provide reimbursement for eligible owners/operators for cleanup costs in connection to petroleum storage tank release and for costs incurred for third-party bodily injury and property damage.
What regulations apply to my home heating oil tank? All underground home heating oil tanks are exempt from the Department of Environmental Quality's (DEQ's) State and federal Underground Storage Tank (UST) Technical Regulations. Aboveground home heating oil tanks less than or equal to 5,000 gallons capacity are exempt from the DEQ's Pollution Prevention requirements.

We had Irv Greene and his company remediate mold in both the attic and crawl space of a 1920 bungalow we bought last summer, replace the attic insulation, and install a vapor barrier and ventilation fans in the crawl space. I could not be more pleased with the results. Irwin and the crew worked incredibly hard on what turned out to be a challenging job, answered every question I had along the way, and addressed any concerns that we had promptly and effectively. This was a great experience with a contractor--recommend them enthusiastically.

Greene Environmental is, by far, the best remediation/mold contractor I have ever used. Am in the property management business and have managed single family residences since 1986. Have utilized Greene Environmental on multiple remediation and mold projects. They are our "go to" contact, in this industry, and would not consider another company.

We have used this company for mold testing and remediation work. The diagnostic report they provided with an explanation as to what they found was top notch. The estimate for the remediation work was broken down by the square foot and very thorough. They are very professional, completed work in a timely manner, and eradicated the issues we were having. I highly recommend them.

I'm in real estate and therefore have used many different mold remediation companies to service properties in the past. Mr. Greene was the most professional by far. Often, I am forced to get several different bids before hiring a company and consistently, Greene environmental has always been our choice. When compared to other companies you get what you pay for, but the great part is you don't pay any more for Greene Environmental, but you are treated like a valued customer... Irv was polite, prompt, professional, and fair. Five stars, will use again.

Irv and the entire staff were 5 star from beginning to end. I've been using Greene Environmental for 5 years now. I'm a licensed residential and light commercial contractor. I restore 60 plus year old homes. I would not use anyone else for mold removal. And not only that .. from purely the perspective of debris clean up Irv's crew is unmatched. I've never seen a cleaning crew that good.

My last renovation took more time than expected, and Mr. Greene and his team actually had to come on 3 separate occasions to accommodate my Reno schedule. They were very patient and flexible. Highly recommended!

I would highly recommend Greene Environmental. Irv Greene, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. Their crew was great to work with, even pitching in cheerfully to help with some last-minute packing and moving tasks that were not part of the project All work was completed in a professional manner, on time and for the quoted price. Upon completion, results were verified through testing by an independent laboratory.
