Services
The purpose of the Melrose Dance Academy Performance Team Program is to provide dancers who have the interest with an opportunity to dance at a higher level and make more of a commitment to dance, their team and the studio. Performance Team dancers must show determination, dedication, respect and a desire to be a productive dancer of this team.
Located in downtown Melrose, in a beautifully renovated health and wellness facility, Melrose Dance Academy offers dance classes that range from pre-school to young-adult in a family-friendly, safe and supportive environment. We believe our first responsibility is to treat our students, their families, our teachers and neighbors with the upmost respect.
At Melrose Dance Academy, we value the experience and expertise of our teachers. We think this provides the cornerstone of not only a good dance education, but an enriching life experience for students. At our studio, we are a close-knit family of teachers who have been together for many years both as instructors and students, who all have diverse backgrounds of dance and are passionate about coaching and inspiring your children.
Since 2013, we've been blessed with a growing interest in all of our class offerings and have continually added new students to our dance family. We'll always have a fondness for our original one-studio facility, but we knew it was time for a change. Melrose Dance Academy has fully relocated to our brand new, two-studio facility located in downtown Melrose, in a beautifully renovated building on Corey St.

My 3.5yr old daughter has been taking classes once a week here for a few months now, and she absolutely loves it! Always talks about Ms. Sam and the "happy stars" (stickers) she gets at the end of the class to let her know how well she did. The price is also very affordable and the owner Amanda is very kind and responsive. Happy to have my daughter here!

I first started dancing here at the age of 5 and continued until I was 18. Throughout the years I made some of my best memories and lifelong friends, all while receiving a great dance education. At Melrose Dance Academy, I was able to learn the proper technique of various dance genres while feeling comfortable and encouraged to do my best. Additionally, as I got older, I began to look at MDA as a second home. This is certainly attributed to the positive and welcoming environment that the staff creates. My 2 daughters have been coming here for a few months now and we are very satisfied with our experience. Miss Amanda and Miss Elizabeth are so sweet and wonderful with the kids. My girls love their tap/ballet combo class. My toddler also loves playing with the toys in the waiting room. The only reason for the 4 stars is because I have not experienced dance classes anywhere else, so I have no basis for comparison and can not honestly say it's "as good as it gets." Also, I can not see what happens during class because they keep the blinds to the viewing window closed (which is understandable

My daughter is on the dance team at Melrose Dance Academy and we LOVE IT! Miss Amanda is Excellent with the girls and my daughter has learned and come so far with Miss Amanda. The older girls are great with the younger girls and Miss Amanda has a No tolerance for bullying policy! Miss Amanda is the owner and has been very kind to me and my family when we have gone through difficult times. My daughter is learning not only how to dance but how to be part of a team and what it means to make a commitment. We've only been in Melrose for a few months, but my daughter (3yo) LOVES this studio. Her teacher is amazing. The owner, Miss Amanda, is amazing. I have zero complaints about how anything is run here. I can't wait to to continue my daughters dance education here as the owner and other teachers do everything they can to inspire these little ones to be beautiful, confident dancers.

It's the perfect amount of time (2 hours) for her age and the activities were so appropriate: dance, snack, crafts, dress up.
Miss Amanda was very flexible as my daughter can have some trouble with separation but after the first day, my daughter wanted me out of there (yay!). There was a "big girl dancer" helper, which my daughter also loved.
Look forward to taking more classes at Melrose Dance Academy and supporting this local business.

Melrose dance academy is the best! The owner, Amanda, is the best dance teacher I have ever had. I started dancing with her when I was 12 and I can honestly say, she has changed my life. Not only has she made me a more confident and better person, but she has done much more. She has made me a much better dancer because of her amazing teaching skills and support. She is always there for me and is helping me get into the college of my dreams. She is even helping me start my own charity. I love Miss Amanda and MDA!

I'm honored to be the first to review. Miss Amanda is a great role model for young ladies of all ages, she gets them to open up and interact socially while getting the best dance instruction money can buy. If your child has interest in tap, ballet or jazz this is the place to start, she also has teams that compete annually in the top competitions in the country. She truly is best in class, our 10yo daughter has been blessed to be part of a wonderful program
