Hilary Lowbridge, who holds a BA from Kenyon College (Gambier, OH) and is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT-200) (Kripalu School of Yoga, Stockbridge, MA), began practicing yoga when she was 18-years-old. She received her undergraduate degree in political science and religion.
After a successful 10-year career as an admission professional at three prestigious colleges, and finally getting a handle on her impossibly curly hair, Lowbridge followed her passion for yoga.One sunny afternoon, while sitting on a porch in southern California, she decided to go to yoga school.

Just bring yourself wearing comfortable clothing in which you can move freely. This 4 week beginners series will compassionately and safely introduce (or re-introduce!) the fundamentals of yoga. Do you have a body? Then you can practice yoga. I hear all of the time from people who want to do yoga, but feel anxious about coming to a group class.
Restorative yoga and Yoga Nidra assist the body's natural ability to cleanse, heal, rest, sleep, grow, conceive and build immunities. Cultivating a deep sense of ease and peace, this workshop will allow you to release layer upon layer of stress and tension. You need not have any prior experience with any style of yoga to participate in this workshop.
Yoga is a safe and gentle physical practice that can build strength, flexibility and tone the body. As yoga means union, the essence of yoga is a union of body, mind and spirit. Yoga is among the oldest systems of health practiced today and has been proven to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, increase energy, strength and endurance, decrease chronic pain, and can even contribute to weight-loss and a balanced mood.
Private yoga instruction is an excellent opportunity to learn about yoga in a safe, supportive, comfortable environment. These sessions allow us to work together to craft a practice personalized to your individual needs, strengths, limitations and goals.

I've been going to Hilary's classes for a little over a year now and LOVE her teaching method! She's hands down the best yoga instructor I've ever had. This weekend, I had the pleasure of attending her 10th annual Resolution Rehab Workshop and was blown away by it. The 2 hours of relaxation, recentering, and goal-setting for the new year was exactly what I needed to start 2020 off on the right foot. I can't recommend taking classes with Hilary enough!

Since beginning my yoga practice with Hilary, I have not only learned how to properly do yoga poses but I've learned that there is integrity with each pose - modified or not. No matter your ability level, you are welcome at hOMe. Perhaps it's the tranquil atmosphere, perhaps it's the soothing tone of Hilary's voice, or perhaps it's her overall teaching style that keeps her students coming back. I have taken yoga classes for at least 30 years, and Hilary by far is the best instructor I've ever had. She is very knowledgeable and provides a nurturing environment for all of her students. She is dedicated to making every class the best experience for every student, no matter their level of experience. Hilary is not part-time instructor, yoga is her lifework.

I had taken exactly zero yoga classes before Hilary's Beginner Series. I had nursed a frightened interest for years before I had the courage to try. I was so nervous, I didn't know what to expect. But I'm so glad I made that leap of faith. Hilary's compassion and enthusiasm are real. You can feel and hear in her tone and her words that yoga is transformative. She makes her studio a home to everybody and every body, every state of being, every size, every age, every level of fitness and familiarity with the practice. She will meet you where you are. Hilary is the best in town when it comes to yoga, meditation, and being awesome! She knows her stuff, is kind enough to offer modifications during class, and has such a soothing, calming, and relaxing tone of voice. I highly recommend taking a class with her whether you are a beginner, experienced, or just getting back into yoga. Her beginners workshops are spectacular! I learned so much!

I have been taking yoga with Hilary since she started classes at the Y. When she moved to her own studio I went with her. Hilary is a wonderful yoga instructor. She is calm and compassionate. I have so much respect for her. She works with her students to help you get the most out of your practice. If I have any trouble with a pose she is right there to help you modify to make it work for you. I use what I have learned from Hilary everyday whether I am practicing or just at work and need a little yoga to get me through the day. Hilary is an inspiration to me and I will continue to practice yoga

I started practicing yoga with Hilary at least 3 years ago. When I started I couldn't even touch my toes, now I easily grab the bottoms of both feet, my neck and shoulders don't hurt anymore, my abs are tighter, and my low back is looser. I've been to half a dozen or so yoga instructors and Hilary is the absolute best. She is supportive and thoroughly emphasizes that it is YOUR yoga practice. She corrects you when it's needed so you don't hurt yourself, but also allows you your independence if your body needs to go a different route. And she has a great sense of humor. Hilary Lowbridge Yoga is amazing. You can tell Hilary puts her heart and soul into teaching; it's not just about leading a class through yoga poses, it's about bringing the student "home" to their heart center. She wants you to leave feeling good about yourself. She is constantly offering modifications for anyone who may need to take it down a notch, but is also able to make suggestions to crank it up for anyone who wants a challenge. Going to Hilary's yoga classes has helped me so very MUCH!!! I never knew I didn't know how to deep breathe until I took a beginner's yoga class. I can say, that alone is priceless for me. My sleep has greatly improved. I'm way more flexible and my health is improved! She has helped me through the years with whatever might be hurting and she will teach me a yoga pose for that ache or pain. She really has a class for every level. I love the stretching and more relaxing.. Its a friendly & welcome place! Hilary is such a sweet lady that always makes you feel at HOME!

I was extremely nervous about beginning my yoga practice. Several reasons for the anxiety of trying something new accumulated when I thought of giving it a try. Fortunately for me I was granted the opportunity to be instructed by one of the most compassionate, genuine, and outgoing yoga instructors on the face of the earth. I have never practiced yoga until recently. Hillary is an amazing teacher! I recently found out that I have scoliosis and doing yoga can help with my back pain. She has taught me several poses that can help me. I plan on continuing my yoga journey with her, and I would recommend her to anyone that is experienced in yoga or not! Hilary makes you feel right at home every time you enter her studio. I never want to go anywhere but here to practice and learn!
