The licensed psychologists at State College Psychological Services, Inc (SCPS) provide adult (ages 18 and above) individual and couples therapy. Services
I help people with a wide variety of concerns including depression, general anxiety, social anxiety, relationship issues, chronic pain, and acute and chronic medical problems. I also see many people who are addressing spiritual, religious and existential concerns, and who are trying to cultivate purpose, meaning and direction in life.
This section describes the 2013 Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) which sets standards for the security of information related to your health and health care. SCPS may revise this Notice in the future to reflect changes in the law or their understanding of it. The revised Notice will apply to all information SCPS has or will have about your treatment.
This text is to be read from your point of view as a client. There is some content overlap between this Informed Consent section and the Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP); this redundancy is required by law. All treatment is voluntary and I have the right to a full explanation of the rationale for any therapeutic suggestions or strategies.
