Medication therapy management, otherwise known as MTM, is a term used for a program to help you manage your medications and health conditions. The pharmacist had trouble inputting and validating my valid and big named insurance company information for a generic prescription. After a few tries, the pharmacist gave me attitude and told me to just buy the drug out of pocket because "it'll be faster" I paid out of pocket for the drugs because of her attitude as she didn't want to continue to resolve the issue. Poor service if you are not a local. I should have have told the Urgent Care next door to send my prescription to Walmart. Avoid if you are online visiting/vacationing but in need of medicine. Do yourself a big favor. Before you refill your scripts at WalMart, CVS. Walgreen or any other bi store pharmacy, suggest you pay a visit to Bear Drugs/Pharmacy. They will probably meet or beat your costs. In addition, their front door is about 10 - 20 steps from your car...not the 1/4 mile walk to the WalMart Pharmacy. The folks working there are a perfect example of what the OBX is all about...some of the most pleasant people you will ever meet. And no long wait ! Try them !! ENJOY.....

Bear Drugs is the best pharmacy I've ever used - by far! After 20 years relying on Steve, Laura and the great staff without a single problem, why would I go anywhere else? Besides quick, accurate prescription work, there are amazing new products all the time, great greeting cards, excellent grade CBD oil products and original art items. I always feel like I've been cared for by a friend when I leave Bear Drugs because they go out of their way to be of service, including opening up late at night so I could pick up a breathing device and meds for my dad when he was ill. I cannot image any other pharmacy

I have been using Bear Drugs since I moved here in 1984. The owner Steve always remembers who you are and say hello whenever he sees you. The staff knows who you are and always suggests generics when they can to save you money. They have a great selection on greeting cards that is so much easier than going to a chain. The few times that I have had to go to the national chains in town I remember why I love Bear Drugs.

I take a prescription on a regular basis and have for many years. I've moved a lot for work so I've been in a ton of pharmacies! The only other that comes close is Hayes Barton in Raleigh. When I lost my drug coverage last year, I assumed Walmart was my best bet. Thankfully, they were so difficult to deal with I decided to try Bear Drugs. They are cheaper and so much faster, friendly and on top of my needs. My prescriptions are crucial to my day to day life. I wouldn't go anywhere else on the Outer Banks! I drove from Grandy because I trust and appreciate them that much!
