Since opening in 2003, The Wine Cabinet has been dedicated to serving Reston and surrounding communities with a fun and welcoming, yet knowledgeable staff. The over 1,900 wines and craft beers in the store are hand selected to ensure we carry only quality wines and beers from boutique and family producers.
The store also carries fine cigars and specialty products, including gourmet cheese, meats, crackers, locally made artisan chocolates, soups from the Eastern Shore, olive oils, spices, jellies, cocktail mixers, and more.

This place is truly a gem. The staff and the management there are incredibly friendly, exceptionally knowledgeable, and always go out of there way to help however they can. There is a distinct, personal level of service there that you just don't seem to get at many places nowadays. The owner Rande is a great guy and really works to figure out your tastes and preferences. He then makes well informed recommendations based on your predilections and price point. Even though the store has a wide variety from which one can choose, they further seem to have a large network of suppliers and can order you

Last Saturday 10 of us were going to go to a winery. We decided on a private wine tasting instead with Steve Mesteiro from the Wine Cabinet . Boy did we make the right decision!
Talked with Steve about what kind of wine we wanted and he was right on! He brought with him a fabulous selection of wines from around the world! It was so informative, he even brought a map of each country and region of the wines we were tasting! He brought all the glasses and wine!
It was so wonderful to not have to drive home from a winery after all the tasting
The tasting can go as long as you want, we did 3 hours

Very friendly management staff there. Lots of wine choices. If you are looking for good and great wines this is a great place. They have wines nobody else has. This is a boutique type store, and as a result they don't seem to be competing in the "under $20" market. They offer a mixed case discount if you ask I think.

The Wine Cabinet is (was?) one of our favorite places to shop. Typically friendly staff help navigate through the myriad of excellent selections. We've been shopping there for years. We are in our 60's, and called ahead for curbside pickup. The man who came out to the car was not wearing a mask nor gloves. That's fine - we asked him to place the box in the back seat of the car. Wow! We got massive eye-rolling and body language that suggested extreme annoyance. Was my husband to expose himself to a mask/gloveless stranger? My impression that curbside delivery meant just that. We both

On several occasions and family gatherings, The Wine Cabinet, in particular Steve M., has been a tremendous help in navigating wine from all over the world in this welcoming, locally-owned shop in Reston. Whether you're looking for the perfect Merlot to pair with your upcoming dinner plans or wanting to learn more in general about how to shop for wine without having anything specific in mind, Steve is the guy to go to! He is an inspiring and passionate educator and I can 100% count on him to help me pick out a bottle of wine that I or friends/family will enjoy. My favorite part of shopping

My wife and I stopped by after reading reviews about a great selection and wonderful service. The variety was indeed excellent. We picked up the bottle pictured below. The service, however, was underwhelming. Upon entering the empty store, the gentleman didn't do so much as greet us. When asked for help finding a Brunello, all he said was "wall behind you". Even when my wife asked about their Thursday open bottle special advertised at the check out counter, he said "it's on Thursdays". She had to ask again what the special actually was and he said "we open a bottle on Thursdays and discount it

Outstanding local wine (and beer) store, that does more than just sell wine (and beer). Multiple weekly wine (and beer) tastings from a variety of vineyards (and brewers), and we’ve taken advantage of their monthly wine seminars, and their wine pairings dinners as well. Kate and Mike and their staff are super-friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Shout out to Steve Mosteiro. We just had a FABULOUS wine tasting with him. The education was next level and easy to comprehend with visuals/maps of each region. The wine selection was phenomenal and very different from bottle to bottle. We were lucky to have him come to our house and host this experience in the comfort of our own kitchen. The Wine Cabinet is a great resource for wines & great service and education in a down to earth fashion.

Lovely store and a great place to visit! The employees are very helpful and help out anyone from a wine novice all the way to a full-fledged oenophile. We fall on the novice side of this spectrum and always appreciate the staff taking the time to ask us about our preferences and helping steer us to the bottles that we might like. The store has a nice selection and has a small rack of beer/brews, port/fortified wines, and bubbly in the back. They also have a modest but nice selection of serving trays, bar accessories, and party supplies. All-in-all, we couldn't ask for anything more from our neighborhood

As one of Reston's only locally owned businesses, The Wine Cabinet does an excellent job making each customer feel like they're the most important person in the shop. Both Rande and Mike are true wine experts--it's like they know what you're thinking when you walk in! Besides the great customer service by each employee, they really have a great selection of wines and beers. You can find a great bottle in there for any price point you're looking for and genuinely be pleased with it. Favorite shop in Reston by far!!

Charming little place tucked into the North Point Shopping Center close to Glory Days, the Wine Cabinet is stocked with a respectable variety of international wine and organized like a progressive wine menu--by color and body, lean to lush. I love small businesses with character, especially if there are "characters" working there (check and check-- this place hits a homer for both categories!!) these guys don't just SELL wine-- they LIVE wine. All are passionate enthusiasts and their love of winemaking and brewing is contagious

Still top notch! I live in Arlington and don't like travelling to Reston because my body can't take the time change but I like stopping in because the crew there are still the best!
Dave (whom they call "the beer guy") has increased and improved the beer selection and offers different labels as they come available and sends out updates and reviews on them. The chicks dig him and after seeing how he treats them like all other customers (i.e. some beverage stores seem to treat women like they are morons) I understand why. Someone should go in and lay claim to him while he

A great wine store fortunately not far from me. Showed up on a Sunday afternoon, a bit before closing. Gave a description of what I liked, and was handed two wines (only one was for me unfortunately, the other a gift). The wine was delicious and not costly! Definitely a great place I'll be going back to when looking for wine gifts!!
Not stuffy, snobby, etc as I feel some wine stores can be! Felt very comfortable and welcome :)

Until today I had no idea this place existed, but boy am I glad I found it!
They have quite an extensive selection of reds, whites, bubbles and rosés at various price points. Although I do agree that some bottles seem to be a little overpriced, at least compared to the small wine store I typically frequent.
That said, I do like that their sections are clearly marked by intensity and the store provides notes about flavor and staff favorites. On my first trip, I was able to find 3 mid-priced wines that I look forward to enjoying later on.
Shame on me for checking in after the fact though
