They won't take car payments out consistently, they take it whenever they want at anytime of the month. Not very convenient for those in poverty.

Wow, I’m happy to report that Maine State Credit Union already solved my fraud issue and replaced the $1900 in funds resulting from fraud on my debit card ! Impressed and certainly grateful that it was resolved in 24 hours. Love banking with this credit union!

Absolutely AWFUL customer service. If you fall behind on loan payments they force you to go in person despite it being the middle of a pandemic, and they choose to make it more difficult to make payments instead of offering support. They are impossible to get ahold of over the phone I’m always on hold for a minimum of 10 minutes. Awful awful awful.

Horrifically short staffed. I have an account with MCSU and have left literally hundreds of voicemails and have sent hundreds of emails to try to get ahold of someone. The operator never has any clue what’s going on and hasn’t been able to get anyone to call me back. I genuinely never could have imagined an institution could have such terrible service.

Never call you back. Rude and condescending. If you don’t go in with a complete understanding of the loan/bank process, be prepared to be spoken to with distain. Happy to be going to any other bank, if they ever respond to my voicemail or two emails.

MSCU has proven the ideal personal banking service for living in Augusta. Since moving here in 2018, we have had our mortgage and I have had the bulk of my financial services handled by them. The interest on savings is better and the staff is very supportive!

Went in to discuss opening a business account after sitting with 2 other credit unions. The account was not competitive in ANY regard. Being self employed, I felt I should let her know how its not competitive, you know, constructive criticism. Ide want to know! What did she do next? Called a manger, they asked me to leave and blocked me from ever doing business there again. I could not believe it! I never sworn, raised my voice or was rude, simply gave her my opinion on how they could be more competitive. Ive told half a dozen people and will never forget how they treated me. Maine State Credit Union has strayed far from its original mission of serving its members/customers/depositors. I have been a member of this credit union since the 1970's and my late wife was a member since the 1960's. A few months ago, I received a communication from MSCU about an offer for a MSCU VISA credit card which would give me a reward for a certain level of usage for the first three months. I intended to do all my Christmas shopping with this card, earn the reward, and continue with use of the card. I sent in an application, went a period of time, heard nothing, and one day

I paid off a car loan and a credit card, 5 days later i get a bill on my credit card for $3.33!? i called and was told a prior purchase was charged as a cash advance! I then reminded them that i paid it off 5 days prior to the bill, they said yes thats our mistake , we will delete this from your account. 3 days later they took it out of my checking!!! my credit report ,more than a month later reflects the car loan as active along with the 3 dollars on my credit card so when i called to complain i get treated like im being rude and have no reason to complain!!

My husband went for a loan at the maine state credit union. It was the state shutdown loan and the offered it from July 3rd until the state reopened at 0% intrest for 18 months.well he had his paperwork and everything in by 830 am on the third. The loan should have been processed and honored but it wasn't. I think that shows bad customer service and bad policy. He has been a member of the credit union for 16years. I really don't think they care about there members .
