Services
Cleveland Heights Chiropractic Clinic was started by Dr. Scottie Ison in 1979. For years, he was the sole practitioner at our chiropractic care center and was joined in practice by his son Dr. Alex Ison, upon his graduation from chiropractic college. Dr. Scottie's wife Maryclaire is our office manager and rounds out our truly family-oriented team.
Father-and-son team Dr. Scottie and Dr. Alex share a singular goal: to be of support to the individuals and families in our community who are looking for a solution to their health concerns. No matter what your challenge may be, we'll help you meet it and strive to help you get better. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Even as a small child, the idea of working in the medical field appealed to Dr. Scottie. Maybe it was the subtle yet ever-present urging from his mother; maybe it was a desire to help people like his mom, who suffered from back pain. His family made the move to Lakeland from Indiana in 1970.
He first attended Polk Community College, followed by Florida Southern College, where he studied basic sciences and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.After much careful consideration, he applied to National University of Health Sciences outside of Chicago.

Since Dr. Alex was young, he's had the privilege of experiencing the healing capabilities of chiropractic medicine. He's the middle of Dr. Scottie's three sons and would watch in the wings as a child while his father delivered chiropractic care to our beautiful community.
At a young age, he was able to fully pronounce the word "chiropractor" earlier than most children; he would often tell his parents that he wanted to grow up and be a "firecracker" just like his dad.And so, his fuse burned. The desire to become not only a chiropractor but the best one around spurred him to complete his studies at Florida Southern College.

I had my first ever chiropractor visit with an alignment and I feel pretty great! I felted such relief from this first visit. I would highly recommend this office to anyone! Dr Alex Ison was easy to talk to and extremely professional. The office had an inviting atmosphere and I felt completely comfortable from the minute I walked in. 5 stars and that’s only because more starts aren’t an option.

My Grandson is 2 months old and was colicky, has acid reflux, silent reflux and wasn’t gaining weight like he should. He wasn’t sleeping more then 20 mins at a time. His first adjustment was yesterday and we noticed immediately he was more relaxed and resting peacefully again. Today there is a huge difference in how he’s sleeping and only crying when he’s hungry. It’s amazing that such a natural approach to these health issues can be fixed without medications. We are so thankful for the Doctors and their practice.
