Services
We are a private and locally owned, non-corporate Pediatric Dental Provider. Dr. Matt established the concept of Smiles Dentistry for Kids before we opened our doors in the summer of 2007. Our team places an emphasis on providing quality care for all children and teens but the overall experience for the entire family is a priority.
Pediatric dentists are the pediatricians of dentistry. We specialize in pediatric dentistry, which means our focus is on treating infants, children, and teens. A dental cleaning/polishing and hygiene instruction performed by one of our highly trained dental assistants. An oral exam - Dr. Hillman will evaluate your child for their overall dental health including addressing orthodontic concerns.
Dr. Matt graduated from the UMKC School of Dentistry and went directly into his postgraduate residency program in Pediatric Dentistry at Northwestern University and Children's Memorial Hospital. Upon completion of his rigorous training Dr. Matt became a board certified pediatric dentist with the ABPD (American Board of Pediatric Dentists).

This was my 4 years first dental visit and I could not have asked for a better experience! All of the staff was so kind and friendly! Jessica was awesome with my son while performing his initial exam and cleaning. Dr. Matt was very friendly and informative as well. The office was clean and kid friendly. Definitely recommend this office for your kiddo(s)!

Before Smiles, my oldest child had a terrible dentist experience. He was scared to go somewhere new and Smiles was recommended to me by a friend. Ashley immediately made him feel welcome (she’s the best!) and he even enjoyed the appointment. The lobby has several games and toys for kids (it has changed a bit due to Covid) and they have kid friendly equipment to make X-rays a breeze and clean kids teeth quickly and efficiently. I really appreciate the kind staff here and am so glad we found this place.

We have always had a wonderful experience with Smiles Dentistry for Kids! We drive 40 minutes to see Dr. Matt and his staff. Today, we saw Dr. Matt and Jen, who were both amazing with my daughter. Dr. Matt explained the procedure, so my daughter would understand. Jen held her hand and provided reassurance that she was right there with my daughter. They both gave her words of encouragement as the dental work was completed. The care Smiles Dentistry for Kids provides is always above and beyond, which is much appreciated.

Dr. Matt and his employees are truly gifted in their approaches and interactions with children nervous about the dentist. We have seen Dr. Matt multiple times and have felt taken care of each time. I also appreciate the fact that the office does not have an overwhelming clinic feel. It is very comfortable!
