Founded in 2006 by physical therapist Tiffany Prangnell, Imua Physical Therapy started out as South Shore Physical Therapy & Sportsmedicine. Tiffany saw the need in Maui and opened the first clinic in Kihei. But God had bigger plans! A few years after the first clinic was established, a friend and former co-worker led her to open a satellite clinic in Kahana out of a local gym.
Orthopedics is the medical specialty dedicated to preserving and restoring function in the musculoskeletal system, which includes bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves. Treatment for cancers of many types can lead to short and long-term issues related to surgery and the effects of chemotherapy and radiation.
We use an evidenced-based approach and we support generous continuing education for our staff, providing you a treatment plan designed specifically to reduce your pain, get you moving, and reduce future injuries.

I only had the pleasure of meeting and being treated for lymphedema by Tiffany and Emily while on Maui for 8 days, but both were AMAZING! The treatments were phenomenal and I felt so much better after each treatment which allowed my wife and I to be able to enjoy our trip without having to avoid doing the things we wanted to do. Not only were the treatments better than the care I receive at home, but Tiffany and Emily were both so very sweet, professional, friendly and just downright great people. Thanks so much to Tiffany, Emily, and Imua for not just making our 25th anniversary trip possible

I just had my first appointment with Peter (Pete) and the session FAR exceeded my expectations! I have seen several physical therapists throughout the years and he is by far the BEST. Very knowledge, lots of experience, and the session gave me lots of encouragement. Would highly recommend this physical therapist!

It's a very intimate situation, that truly takes a very professional and caring individual with regards to the type of therapy I have had. I am so grateful! I started to see Peter Ferrer in 2019. Because of my back injury and since Peter has been helping me with my right shoulder as well. I'm very grateful and satisfied with the results. Have to say that I couldnt have asked for a better experience. Colin was incredible during my road to recovery.
After suffering from an injury at work that impaired my ability to function normally on a daily basis I didnt expect a anything but the worst and truly felt down on life.
Not only did Imua therapy get me back on my feet in faster than any time I could have expected but by the time I left my physical therapy appointments I felt better than I have ever felt previous to my injury.
Again I want to thank Colin for being the most amazing and genuine person I could have ever had the pleasure

Unfortunately, I experienced an inexcusable act of unprofessionalism. First, my PT had me doing the SAME exercises for several weeks and then had the audacity to recommend I come in 3x weekly-I wasn't getting better. Second, during one of my last visits, I heard my PT fighting on the phone with (I guess) her boyfriend. I heard everything. She left me on the bike for 25 minutes when initially she wanted me to warm up for 5 minutes. This place sucks! The PTs are inexperienced, many are new grads with no experience. I understand it's hard for Hawaii to get quality, skilled clinicians because

I was referred to Imua for a knee injury. I went on my appointment day and time, and was warmly greeted by the receptionist. My physical therapist was Christian Roy.
Christian was immediately friendly and welcoming. He asked questions to determine a course of treatment, and fully explained this course. I had confidence in his understanding of my fears, and in his course of treatment. He made sure I was an active participant in the action plan to relief and recovery.
I sincerely recommend Christian Roy to you ! If you want a PT who is highly competent, friendly and interested in your best recovery

Worst PT experience ever. They sold me a hip belt that was too small, an exercise ball that was too big for me, a TENS unit and never showed me how to use it. They traded me around. Four therapists in two years and never got better. One therapist (Christina) told me I was WASTING HER TIME. Tiffany Pragnell, if you had no idea how to help me, why did you squander two years (2017 and 2018) of my PT insurance benefits? One session of PT with a different clinic in 2019 has made it clear that you only made my situation worse with all that repetitious stretching. Shame on you. I would like to

Grateful for finding this place through yelp and fb. The instructor is gentle and sweetheart. She is patient and works with your .
The class is in a nice studio air conditioned. Although only a few people show its great that class is small. She worked with your strength and shows techniques to practice breathing. Also it's a non judge mental ambiance. The music is really relaxing. Namaste!!

is personable warm and professional, Alyana has been my PT during this time and she has helped me more than any other PT I have used on the island. I highly recommend these season, result oriented professionals- it really makes a difference when the staff know what they are doing.
