Bill Markt began his company in 1977 under the name Markt & Myers. In 1980, Rick Myers left to work in the weather-stripping business, and Bill's company became known as Markt & Company Construction. Markt & Company has always been run as a family business, with Bill's son Jonathan involved in the company throughout his childhood and after graduating college.
In 2008, Jonathan and his wife Wendy joined the company as partners. Projects range from small projects and repairs to large additions and custom remodels. We do little advertising; the projects have always come through repeat customers and referrals. Jonathan started working at Markt & Company as a part-time employee while completing his schooling at the University of Oregon.

Services
It's not just about how we work; it's about the lives we touch with the work we do - all the lives that are involved - whether they be in the community through our volunteerism, our employees, our subcontractors or our clients. Remodeling is a powerful tool for change. This is how we impact the people around us.
When thinking about your kitchen, there are a lot of factors to consider. Functionality is obviously important, as are style, the future needs of your family, and added value to your home. The kitchen is often the focal point of your home - the gathering place for family and friends, and is used constantly throughout the day.
Beyond being functional, bathrooms are a sanctuary and can encompass an infinite number of needs, preferences and wants. Space limitations are often top priority with bathrooms, leading to creative solutions for storage, lighting and accessibility. During a remodel, we are in your home and are a large part of your lives for a time.
Whole House can mean a brand new custom home, or changing several rooms covering a large portion of your home. If your project involves an addition, how will the new area fit with your existing house to look like it's always been there?. Do you want to maintain your home's historical integrity through your remodel, or change the style completely?.
We overhaul more than just kitchens and bathrooms. We also work on living rooms, bedrooms, basements and other spaces. Do you need to update an existing space, add on more square footage, or reformat an area to fill a new need? Do you have a new baby on the way, or an aging parent who you'd like to make room for?

Had some friends who used this business for some work they had done and they were very happy with everything that was done. It wasn't a huge job but they did it with class and they wanted me to let the community know that this general contractor is someone you can trust. As of this review this is the first one posted so here is hoping they get more as time goes on.

We recently remodeled our kitchen and to say we are pleased would be a gross understatement. We are over the moon with the transformation of our 60's era kitchen and bathroom which now look contemporary and amazing. Jonathan Markt was great to work with; he is dedicated to his trade, listens intently, and delivers promptly with quality work. He was diligent about staying in touch and any questions we had were answered immediately. Most of all he is a contractor with integrity and I would recommend him without reservation as someone you can trust.
