Services
Dr. Chris Forstall, a New Orleans native, has been practicing in the area since 2005. Dr. Forstall attended Jesuit High School then went on to the University of Mississippi for his undergraduate studies. For his doctorate, Dr. Forstall took in the beauty of the Caribbean while at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Jack may look familiar to most of you because he has been shadowing, Dr. Chris, since he was a senior at Jesuit High School. Dr. Jack pursued a biology degree at the University of Alabama and came home to New Orleans every summer to gain hands on experience with our doctors and technicians. After graduation, he returned to Louisiana to attend Louisiana State University, School of Veterinary Medicine.
Lisa has been a vet tech and has worked in various animal hospitals since 2001, but she currently calls Southshore Animal Hospital her home. Her son, Ty, and daughter, Emma, love coming to work with her. She has a husband of 10 plus years, and together they have 2 dogs and 2 cats. She is our head veterinary technician at our Transcontinental location.

Offering full service boarding to pet owners in Metairie, Jefferson, Kenner, and New Orleans, we provide a home away from home where your pets will be treated like family.
At Southshore Animal Hospital, we understand that cancer is a word no pet owner wants to hear in connection with his or her beloved pet's health. However, cancer is a diagnosis that seems to have become almost commonplace in today's society, affecting humans as well as our canine and feline companions.

High-quality service, care, and information! Dr. D'Antonio provided clear instructions and education regarding Rosey's plan of care. He and his staff were happy, friendly, honest, and eager to provide excellent service, and it's clear that quality care of animals and their families are priorities. Today was my first visit for getting my dog groomed and I would not recommend them for this service. Her actual hair cut isn’t great - very choppy/uneven. Also, they handed my dog back to me covered in urine. When I questioned the staff they were rude and refused to take accountability saying they “didn’t know what happened because the crate she was in was dry”. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable.

First I will focus on the positives of my MANY visits here. The doctor does know what his talking about and takes time to explain stuff and is honest enough with prices and all. Front desk and their “manager” need customer service training. Had an issue wanted to complain and fix it instead of doing a review. She wasn’t sorry or anything and I’m pretty sure she was talking to me like I was a kid??? Nothing got fixed no one was accountable in fact it seemed like it was my fault? Cool. Doctor apparently couldn’t get ahold of me so he calls my parents and bother them at their jobs for some

I LOVE this place. Best vet I've ever had out of the six I've been to (most out of state).
The people are unbelievably nice, knowledgeable, clear, and professional. They handle things quickly, and are willing to answer any questions you have. They clearly care for your pets, and want you to feel comfortable as a pet parent with what they are doing/needs done. I was recommended this place by a friend instead of MSAH, and I could not be happier with the switch.

I love how nice and attentive everyone is. They are always so accommodating and explain what is going on every step of the way. They offer technician appointments that allow you to have certain things taken care of such as bloodwork checks, heartworm tests, and some shots. Thank you for always being awesome!
