Holy Cross Medical Center is the central hub for health care in north-central New Mexico. Services
In 1936, America was in the midst of its greatest economic disaster and Taos socialite, Mabel Dodge Luhan, saw that her community desperately needed a proper hospital. She donated a house on La Posta Road and it was named Holy Cross Hospital by The Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, who ran the hospital for nearly twenty-five years.
In compliance with the federal government's Meaningful Use Initiative, all hospitals will soon be required to provide patients (or a patient- authorized user) electronic access to their patient record. Having this access through your personal, secured email will allow you, as the patient, the ability to review your medical record during your stay at our facility.
The multidisciplinary team at Taos, New Mexico's Holy Cross Medical Center Diabetes Management and Medical Nutrition Therapy Services provide individual and group education, resources, and support for you or your loved one living with type 1, type 2, gestational diabetes, and other nutrition-related conditions.
Holy Cross Hospital's Emergency Department is staffed with skilled physicians, nurses and other medical practitioners who specialize in emergency medicine. Our physicians are board certified in emergency medicine, offering the knowledge and experience to handle any emergency. Our nurses are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neo-natal (newborn) Resuscitation and Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum.
The Holy Cross laboratory offers a diverse array of services to both outpatients and inpatients. The outpatient blood-draw area is only a few steps from the Lab lobby, and privacy cubicles assure patient confidentiality. The Lab has a full-time Histotechnologist who assists in preparation of surgical and cytology specimens.

I received excellent care both in the Emergency Room and while in the hospital for a Non-COVID emergency for six days on the Surgical floor. The doctors, nurses and CNA’s were very attentive and professional. It was a stressful time due to the hospital being over burdened with COVID patients. The empathy factor of both the RN’s and CNA’s were beyond expectation.

Worst hospital in all of New Mexico! I went in for chest pains because I thought I was having a heart attack and they made me wait an HOUR before a doctor saw and assessed me, and another hour before she came back to talk to me about my symptoms. The funding that the town of taos and state give this hospital are obviously not going into bettering the hospital care. Very obviously corrupt. Some of the emergency nurses are rude and uncaring. I'm traumatized by the lack of care here. I would have been better getting going to espanola hospital ...

Waited almost 2 hours for blood work the day after Thanksgiving. Apparently management didn't schedule any registration staff to work. I was registered by the poor ER clerk that had just worked a full graveyard shift. She had a line out the door of people waiting for blood draws. What a disorganized chaotic mess!! This hospital and its management are a disgrace to its employees and our community!

This place is a joke! I’ve never seen such incompetence! I got up early so I could be seen without waiting to long. When I first went in the nurse up front tried to force me to provide information that legally I don’t have to give. Went in for a massively clogged ear. Doctor looked at it and made minimal effort to try to clear it. I also went in for severe post operation pain and possible damage. They gave me a medicine that I’m not supposed to take after a fusion!!! Seriously, what kind of doctor orders something like that? I swear I will drive to santa fe long before I come here again.

We brought my Dad, who is 87 years of age, to the emergency room and the day we were there the ER waiting area was empty so that was nice. An RN was in the waiting area about 7-8 minutes after we filled out the paperwork and the employees were friendly and helpful. The hospital is a nice, clean small town hospital with a great medical team and exceptional care of patients.
We were pleased with the professional care provided to my Dad and he was happy with his visit. The attentive Doctor thoroughly treated my Dad and was able to determine that my Dad needed Antibiotics for an infection affecting

They need a text contact option, I can't talk because my throat is swollen halfway shut and really seriously need help and advice. I'm out of options, go to the hospital? Don't go to the hospital? I don't know if it's worth it or if I really have to because I don't know what realistically should or should not be happening in my body right now.

I've had several mammograms and an ultrasound here. Everyone in the radiology department has always treated me with absolute respect and kindness. All of the mammogram technician ladies have just been the best. They are so kind and caring and gentle and patient. While getting a mammogram is not much fun, the staff of the radiology department really helps make the experience not so bad.

I was in Taos on vacation and Sunday evening about 5 o’clock I had to go to the ER because the pain and nausea was beyond description with words. We got signed in and it seemed like an eternity before they called me back. I got the usual question and answer time which I didn’t think I was going to make it through. After that it was another hour and a half before I finally got an IV to pump some pain and nausea meds in me. What they were giving me didn’t last so it was a lot of pain a nausea for the next few hours. I have had several kindey stones and ER experiences before but this was the
