At Tempo Vino we are very proud of our wine and winemaking processes. Our wines are hand crafted in small batches from grapes grown around the world. There is no other winery in the area where you can actually taste and make wine from grapes grown in France, Italy, Germany, Australia, and California.

We select the best crops from top vineyards each harvest, and import the juice to our winery for winemaking. Irene Mantakounis is a chemical engineer turned winemaker. After graduating from the University of Michigan, she worked for Procter and Gamble in manufacturing. Alex Mantakounis uncorked his first wine bottle at the age of 3 years old.
Services
There is nothing more exciting than making your own wine. You start off at the tasting bar where you sample our wines to decide which varietal you would like to make. Then we put together a recipe for your wine based on your tastes. The fermentation takes several months, then when your wine is ready, we will call you to schedule a bottling date.
We have over 40 different label templates that you can choose from for your labels, or we can start with a plain white label and design a label based on a picture or logo. Custom labels are $8.00 for the first label and $1.00 for each additional label of the same label. If you would like customized labels for your entire batch of wine, the cost is only $30 per batch.
Private wine tasting parties at Tempo Vino Winery are $150 per hour for up to 10 people ($15 each additional person). During an hour long party, each guest typically samples 8-12 different wines. We provide the wine and tasting crackers to cleanse your palate between tastes. You are also welcome to bring in your own snacks or use any restaurant or caterer in the area.
This is our top seller! This basket speaks for itself. A bottle of wine of your choosing, 2 wine glasses, and after dinner sweets make a great gift. Comes complete with an ice bucket to chill your wine in. Enjoy an afternoon away from it all. Step back in time with the "retro" basket, which comes complete with wine, glasses, plates, cloth napkins, cheese, and crackers for two.

Stopped by to check this place out. It's during business hours, there are people inside but the door is locked. I guess they simply don't need the business so I won't be back.

The wife, our dog and I came out to Kalamazoo from Holland on a gloomy Saturday. The owner was the person giving us the wine tasting. He was pleasant and cordial. The wines were very refreshing. One of them stung the back of my throat which I've never had in a wine before. All in all we were pleased with the presentation. I guess the only complain I have about the place is that the owner and staff weren't very social at all which made the tasting super awkward and sped up and that the owner informed us that they buy their grapes from all over. Without watching and truly knowing what the weather

I was at this place couple of weeks ago. Most interesting part was, they make their own wine. They have great selection of wine. I attended their wine 101 class and i learnt a lot of things about wine. If you are ever in kalamazoo, check out this place.

This is a fun winery in downtown Kalamazoo. They have a sizeable variety of wines for all different tastes as well as seasonal flavors. Their wines vary in price so any budget can enjoy them. They know their wine but don't act snobby about it. They also make their own mead and cider. Would definitely recommend!
