Yes, this is the cozy cone motel from Cars fame. I didn't stay here , but took my own trip down route 66 to check it out. It is located in San Bernardino on an unassuming street. It was nice to see up close . I did notice that the rooms were being used so it looks like you could stay here if you wanted to. Just nice to see a piece of history up close and nice preservation too.

What a true American experience! Jack the owner has done an amazing job of maintaining to ambiance of a 1950's motor court. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The only thing missing was the black and white Zenith TV with rabbit ears and a cigarette ashtray, but what a rare experience to enjoy on the old Route 66.0

This place was inspired by the animated movie, "Cars." I loved the movie. The Cozy cones are the best place to make a stop at a.k.a wig-wam motel. This place is on route 66. A bit of a sketchy area but a cool place to chill out. I believe it is a family owned business. It's really fun of an experience. I like to skate around the parking lot and hangout at the wigwam. It's different but fun. There's also a pool which I wasn't ready for. I'm sure it would've been a blast.
I totally recommend. The employees are also very friendly. Check it out and stay a night

I loved the wigwam motel. It's been on my bucket list for a long time. My partner and I came from Long Beach for just one night and we had a great time. We had the pool all to ourselves on a 90+ degree Saturday afternoon. Our unit was super clean and we felt very safe there. My only complaint was that considering the crappy area that it's in and how outdated the decor is, it seems a little overpriced. Both men that worked the desk while we were there were very nice.

The motel is super cute and historic but the area and surrounding neighborhood seems really bad!!! I feel bad saying that because the man running it was very kind. They have a little store in the office full of Route 66 trinkets and allowed me to come in after they had already locked up. From driving past an open door, the rooms looked small but adorable and clean. I would just suggest that you do your research before reserving a room!!!

Very well maintained rooms. Everything was very clean. Comfortable, upscale bedding and nice vinyl plank flooring in room. I was surprised at how much space there was even with two queen beds. Staff was nice and helpful as well and there are lots of Route 66 souvenirs available for purchase in the office.

Love this! The new owners have worked hard at refurbishing but keeping that "old time" feeling. It was delightfully tacky in its decor. It's close to the road but it was so quite on the grounds. Don't judge this place by it's surrounding area, it's an old neighborhood but this gem is polished and loved.
Had a great time and will check off the Route 66 bucket list that this place is exactly what I'd hoped it would be. Keep up the great work Wigwam, and I hope you're around for many more year to come.

This is such a cute little place. Perfect for two. It is on a busy highway, in not such a great area. But definitely worth a night here. Not sure I'd want to spend more than one night, but the novelty is so fun.
We were in one of the back ones, so it was super quiet. Didn't have any problems. The room was surprisingly large. Looking from the outside you would think it was tiny. But I had a bed, one night stand, a couch, and a table. There was a mini fridge. But there was no coffee maker or microwave.
The bathroom was a pretty good size. The shower was a little strange. More like an RV shower

OK so check it out guys this is not a Hilton Hotel.
This is a 50-year-old roadside motel that's privately owned and needs a financial investor so bad but my guess is that there just isn't enough profit to make it worth anyone's while. Now when I say that please understand there's nothing wrong with this place but I've seen some things online and I know that anyone that is involved with this place would love to develop the entire property and really fix it up so that it is 100%

We did not stay here, it was just a stop on our Route 66 day trip. Place looks very cute though, and I do want to stay here in the future. We just took pictures and walked around. We stopped at the gift shop as they have a sign in their window that you can pick up your Route 66 passport books there, but unfortunately they did not have any. The worker said they haven't had any in 6 weeks..... but other than that, the area is pretty cool

Wow, this place is a classic! We visited the property and the gift store, we did not stay the night. I think it would be really fun to stay the night in the teepees. The family that owns and runs the property is really kind. The property is in spotless condition. The neighborhood isn't great but when you're on the property it's really fun and really transports you to another time.

This was an added stop to our road trip itenerary and it was such a brief but pleasant experience.
First off this is a motel, and the employees are so kind about allowing individuals to take a photo outside. They also gave me an extra post card with my Yelp check-in which was thoughtful.
Both my son and I got a kick out of this place since we love Disney's Cars movie. Sally's Cone Motel is based on this Route 66 destination.
I checked hotel pricing and it's actually pretty cheap if you want to stay somewhere basic on a road trip.
We might be back!

When checking in & the lady wasn't in there. Had to wait in the cold for her. Hotel was clean, super cool, very pretty. Could have been a great experience but when I went out to get food I got robbed literally across the street at the retro drive thru. I was in a white Dodge Charger so I don't recommend taking a nice car if you play to stay. I went back to motel to tell the lady I wanted to check out because my boyfriend & I had just gotten robbed & she asked if the room was okay. Didn't get a refund or credit for a later reservation. The motel itself deserves stars,

Another famous Route 66 icon, the Wigwam motel, was the inspiration behind the Disney movie "Cars" (But in Cars, the tee-pees are replaced with traffic cones.)
It's located in San Bernardino. You can't miss it! There's a plaza nearby the motel, so it's relatively easy to collect food, water and drinks at night. I feel like it's kinda fun to walk around, you get to see some vintage cars and some retro signs. And bound point: it's doggie friendly! ($25 for the dog for a night)
However, there are a few problems that I noticed:

I was so excited to visit this motel when I found it by accident on social media. We had a trip planned in the area and purposely booked a room for about $100.00.
We had a late check-in arrival of 8pm. The motel was located in the outskirts of Rialto in a sketch area but that didn't stop us from visiting.
The Indian lady at the front desk was non approachable when we arrived even after trying to make small talk to break the ice.
In the lobby, they have a variety of Route 66 memorabilia and drinks to buy and take home with you.
Once they gave us the keys to our Teepee we drove over

The Wigwam Motel is a must see that can be easily recognizable off of the famous Route 66 in San Bernardino.
