Genadeen catered our wedding, and we were really pleased with the experience. We planned the event without much lead time, so it was very important to us that Avi was very responsive and straightforward. He was very accommodating to our particular needs and requests. The food itself was wonderful and plentiful - all of our guests said so - and we were especially pleased that our vegetarian guests raved about the food. Avi was extremely helpful on the day of the event itself - he made sure all of the parts of the wedding ran smoothly. Overall it was a great experience - we would absolutely recommend

We recently (March 2021) made our wedding with Genadeen at the Sephardic temple. It was beyond expectations. Everything was perfect — It was set up both indoors and outdoors, and as regulations changed, they… were adaptive to our needs to be able to keep the wedding safe and per guidelines while also a true wedding party.
The food was the best we’ve ever had at a wedding. We visited a lot of places and have been to a lot of weddings but Genadeen wins the prize. Our guests agreed.
Finally, the staff are kind, responsive, courteous and friendly. Avi is a wonderful person to work

The best caterer to every make an event with! Avi left nothing unturned. The food was above and beyond. My guests could not stop talking about how delicious the food was! Over the top! We had family from Reformed to Orthodox that blended together. I was very nervous and Avi told me not to worry. He was right! He had my back the whole time! His staff was really wonderful. I must have called Amy 25 times... She was so patient! We had it at the Sephardic Temple and it was just so beautiful! I could' t have been any nicer. It was over the top!!! We just used Genadeen for our daughter's wedding. We worked with Avi and he did a phenomenal job. The food was absolutely plentiful at the Schmorg...lots of stations. The Sushi station has 2 sushi chefs making fresh sushi. The food is displayed beautifully. The main course and appetizer was displayed beautifully and got great reviews. The dessert stations and pass around desserts were also amazing and the party ended on a real high note. Recently, I was a wedding guest and Genadeen was the caterer. The cocktail hour's presentation and layout were lovely, but minimal seating made eating with a drink in hand awkward and uncomfortable. Some of the fruit wasn't near ripe (mangos and kiwi) and inedible. I and my boyfriend had never seen such a dark and overcooked piece of beef. We both questioned whether it was prime rib at all. The dessert tables were well stocked. For a NY caterer, I would expect authentic hot city pretzels with a crunchy crust, as opposed to the chewy exterior.

Genadeen catered our kids' wedding which was at Greentree Country Club in New Rochelle on June 17, 2018. This was the first of our weddings that we brought in a caterer to an offsite venue. Avi was extremely helpful in planning the menu. Everyone complimented us on the food - especially the smorgasbord and the pass around desserts. Our daughter's wedding was this past Sunday at a venue in Westchester. Avi and his team came in and did a fabulous job. The food and presentation was exceptional. My guests raved about the cocktail hour and the variety, the dinner was superb and the desserts just topped off the night. Avi is a true professional and a pleasure to work with.

My sons wedding was last June. I waited till now to post this since I am in the process of planning another wedding for my daughter. We visited the Sephardic Temple to look and see. We loved the venue but beware. Although Avi seemed to be sincere he really let us down. Our count ballooned from 250 to 312. He didn't add a station or expand the cocktail reception to accommodate the number of people. Did not add servers and ran out of dinners for our guests. I particularly am offended since my wedding was held there in 1987, my sister was married there, my cousins founding members of the temple

We initially approached Avi's son - David. David was 100% available and responsive before we booked. After we booked, reaching him was like pulling teeth.
Dealing with the owner - Avi, was unpleasant to say the least. He was not courteous with the bride the first time around on the phone, cutting her off when she was trying to ask questions. He did not communicate well and got irritated at questions. "This is a stupid question". There are no stupid questions, Avi. You need to respect customers and you cannot treat women

We had a wedding catered by Genadeen in New Rochelle. Our family lives in Chicago and from my first conversation with Avi, I knew that we were in good hands. His food, staff and service were unbelievable. My friends are still talking about the smorg and how they wish that we had Avi here in Chicago to cater our local events. He also packed up all of the leftover food so that we were able to eat his delicious meal for a few extra days and it still tasted great!

I have used Genadeen for several occasions... we started with my daughters Bat Mitzvah which had to be postponed due to the death of the bat mitzvah girls grandpa. Avi worked w/ us and handled everything as though we were a part of his own family. Instead of increasing our stress, he and his staff helped us through our difficult time by assuring us that everything will be ok.
