Reid's Livery
Owner and wine grower Rex Reid opened Reid's Livery Winery in the Spring of 2009, with a vision of creating Alvaton's finest small farm winery. Self trained on the farm, he creates berry & grape wines with an extensive passion for perfection. We have won Three Commissioner's Culps for the Best Boutique Wine in Kentucky, and over 250 awards for our wine since 2009.

Most of them from International Judges from Fingerlakes International to Indy International, Wines of the South to Snoma California's US National and others. Rex opened the doors of Reid's Livery Winery in the Spring of 2009. Before opening the doors, he spent the previous three years producing the finest home grown wines.
Services
Norton 2017, Our Best Selling Dry Red This wine is the first Norton Rex has aged in a French Oak Barrel. Our youngest Red has proven to be as popular as all of the Norton and Norton Blends produced in our Winery since 2009. Full of rich Norton taste with just enough time in the barrel for a smooth finish.
Wine tasting is Complimentary. We offer up to 17 wines all made here on our farm. We may have some wines ready to bottle that are still in the vat and we often allow you to taste those as well! Folks are welcome to bring family and friends and enjoy walking the farm and seeing our animal friends. We have dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys & of course horses.

Amazing wine!!! And a very wonderful woman who is very sweet and her doggies are also sweet. We came for the first time and the wine was very good. A nice selection of super sweet and sweet fruit wines from apples to elderberry. If you are in bowling green this is a must!

This is on a farm road a bit off the beaten track, and shares it's grounds with one of their other passions - horses (not to mention turkeys, ducks etc). Don't let this deter you! We visit many wineries and can count on the fingers of 1 hand the few that we bought so much from as we did here.
We've traveled from Tn to Pa 5 times this year, usually stopping at a winery or 2 (or 3!) each trip. We tried calling this place when we were in the Bowling Green area at convenient hours (they have tastings only by appointment). We weren't successful at finding them till this last trip

Thought it would be fun to check this plane out while riding country rides on our motorcycle. I have to say I'm not much of a wine connoisseur but Rex mixed magical grapes that had be loving the flavors.
It's a good down home feel snd taste, kinda like a good hillbillies wine!!
We enjoyed talking and learning about Reid's while making and not to mention Rex just seems like a good old boy...
So I recommend if you're in the area stop by, pull up a stool and have a taste, when you're done buy a few bottles after all Rex has to make a farm payment!!
Because of the guard

We just had the BEST afternoon at Reid's! We love the country setting complete with chickens and horses. Rex was so warm and welcoming. Our kids loved playing outside and taking in the scenery. We'll definitely be back!

Upon arrival at Reid's Livery and Winery....you may think that it is no longer inclusive of the "and Winery" part. Don't let this stop you. Continue on up the driveway and just go ahead and park. You will be greeted in very short order by either Rex or Diane, who are the proprietors...and maybe a friendly dog or two... oh, and a few chickens or roosters . Once you enter the wine tasting room, you should immediately feel at home, as you are now IN their home. So, just sit down, relax, and get to know your host. Trust me, it'll be WELL worth your time to do so! Since Diane

Loved it! Very nice people. The wine was amazing and there was a wide variety of options. The wine tasting is free and the wine bottles were reasonably priced. I had a great time and I hope to go back again soon!

Reid's Livery & Winery is a hidden gem in Alvaton. Husband and I found it three years ago after attending a wedding in Bowling Green and just went back yesterday since we were in Bowling Green again for a surprise birthday party.

The wine selection is plentiful and all made locally. A complimentary tasting from dry to sweet and very reasonable pricing! We took home Elderberry, Strawberry, and two other dry wines that were delicious!

The owner is very down to earth and cares that you have a great experience. He said more tourists come by than locals so I encourage more locals to go

This is a wonderful little gem just outside of Bowling Green. It's not your run of the mill winery or your normal wines but if you give them a shot you will be pleasantly surprised. I picked up three bottles while I was there and will be back for more.
