Matson Vineyards
Matson vineyards is a family-owned winery located just east of Redding, California. Our original vineyard was planted in 1981, and the winery was officially established in 1984. We believe in providing high-quality, handcrafted wines at an affordable price. Visit our Tasting Room located right here at the winery. We continually strive to explore the incredible diversity of grape varieties that exists and the flavors that can be elicited from them.

The evolution of unique wines taking place at our winery requires experimentation with the unique growing conditions here in Shasta County, curiosity about somewhat ignored but high potential varieties, and the desire to discover the subtle ways in which blending of wines can yield exciting and delicious results.Join us in exploring the vast world of Shasta County wines.

Lovely small vineyard. They bring the homely feel to a small scale operation. Great wine. But call ahead to make sure they arent too busy!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Flavorful + delicious + high alcohol content = the best wine ever! This winery is family centered, inviting, charming, and makes for a great time. I love this wine so much I keep a stock pile back in florida. If you're looking for a mom and pop winery that makes some killer wine this is your place.

Love this small winery! Don't get me wrong, I love larger Napa wineries but nothing beats small local wineries that produce great wine! Matson is just that! Great wine, great people, and locally made. Oh and did I mention they are dog friendly?! Stop by for a glass or jump right in and join their wine club! So happy to have them right in Redding!

Good wines - lovely selection, and, as importantly, our tasting room guide (Lynette) was fabulous. She provided wine information, as well as travel tips for the area and up into Oregon. I appreciate a place with personality and excellent products - Matson has both of these.

Absolutely amazing owners, staff, and family at this vineyard, and of course beautiful wines. Their courtesy and hospitality was unimaginable. My husband and I visited the Matson Vineyards following a recommendation from the owner of the AirBnB we were staying at while on our Wedding Anniversary trip. When we arrived, we found out they were having a closed party for their members, which we were unaware of. However, out of their kindness and generosity, they allowed us to stay. We are so pleased that we did as we found amazing wine tasting and great conversation among the members and staff. Our

I'm so glad I cam across this place during Thanksgiving time! It was open on black Friday and had great deals on wine bottles and wine tasting! The staff was very very nice and gave us recommendations on what wines to taste. I left with a few bottles as gifts! I cant wait to visit NorCal again! They also had handmade soaps and treats inside the tasting room!

Love this place! The manager, Lynette, is very warm and friendly and also very knowledgeable about the wine and history of the vineyard. We love going out on the weekends to taste and enjoy a bottle out on the patio with our friends, throw a ball for Muddy, the winery dog or just meander around the property.
Come on out! You will arrive as a guest and leave as a friend.

Personally, this place was not my style. The tasting room is quite small and when we walked in the manager just started pouring wine without asking who was tasting or telling us what she was pouring. I prefer a small amount of conversation and/or a sheet that gives me tasting notes....on top of this, none of the wines were remarkable.

Laid back small vineyard in Shasta County. Cute tasting room with patio area over looking the vines. Staff very knowledgeable. Tasting room open Friday-Sunday. We joined the wine club, much more affordable compared to Sonoma or Napa wine country. We enjoyed a complementary tasting of about 5-6 wines. Then decided to buy a bottle of "Trinity" and enjoy the patio as we threw a tennis ball to "Muddy" Great Afternoon! Worth checking out if you live in Redding or if your just passing through!

We were up in Redbluff for a wedding and decided to take a jont up north and see what we could see, which, and this is no insult to the Redding area, is not much.

We pulled up to Matson, and it's on some beautiful land - if you feel like you're out where no business exists you're getting close.

The tasting room is nice and comfortable, but don't expect what you would see in Napa or Sonoma - this has a more homie feel. Technically they are by appointment only, but we walked in with no problem.

As far as the wines here were our favorites:

Glacier white - Easy to drink, smooth
