Atmosphere was nice. Food came out mildly warm and feel as though it was overpriced for the quality. Server was very nice and outgoing though.

My sister and I got the dinner for 2 sampler for my birthday dinner and it was amazing! Definitely get the carrots and the black beans.

I don't get it... I don't understand how a place with average food truck quality food and a chef that rips off sauces from other places is still in business. The only redeeming quality about the place is the decor which adds a minimal quality above the very average service and atmosphere.

Been about 4 or 5 years since we last ate here. Food was just as good as first visit.
Got the "Dinner for 2" which was a nice selection of the smoked meats they serve: pulled pork, brisket, ribs, and smoked sausage. Also got the poutine for an appetizer. Needless to say, leftovers were brought home.
The brisket was nice and juicy. The ribs were almost perfect (and probably the best thing I ate from the plate). The smoked sausage was delicious. The pulled pork was good but not overly excited about it.

The ribs were either over or under cooked. I expect rib meat to tear or break away easy not tough to bite through and certainly to get off the bone. I only gave 3 stars for presentation, flavor, and ambiance. We sadly won't be returning.

Omg. Very good. My husband and myself got the brisket plate. Yummy. We also got bread pudding for dessert. One is more than enough for 2 people to share. Extremely good.

Our first visit to Smoked on 3rd for lunch with the family here today. The brisket sandwich was tender, so flavorful, and delicious. The house BBQ sauce was tangy with a hint of sweetness and a great pairing with the brisket. Our server was friendly and very kind to our kids. We will definitely visit again.

We just had the most amazing meal with fantastic service for a family dinner. Pumpkin beer on draft with maple syrup and brown sugar on the rim was very good. Boo yah potatoes are a must try! Meat sampler platter was a perfect way to try a lot of stuff! We all had to go containers, so much food. Bread pudding was so good! The staff was very attentive.

Nice staff, good bbq. I really like ordering lunch here or getting the for two people meal! One of the nicest restaurants in the area and there is only about 5 of those!

We came here as a walk-in, we were seated right away but waited almost 20 minutes for a waitress to come to our table, we ended up getting up and telling the bartender that we still hadn't been served. This was frustrating and disappointing since we were ready to order within 5 minutes. The bus boy that brought our food forgot to get a salad and we had to let him know, and he tried to put the salad on the corner of the table half hanging off in a hurry. Great folks. Awesome food. Covid means curbside or takeout but don't let that stop you. As an itinerant working traveller I was welcomed and made to feel like family after walking in for a takeout. Can't wait to be back in town when they are fully open. Oh, get the carrots...

Wow this place is absolutely fantastic! One of the best brisket I have ever had and the bread pudding is number one ever!!!!

I know it says BBQ, but the Garlic Parm Shrimp caught my eye and when the waitress offered that as one of her three recommendations, I was sold. They have it both as an appetizer and entree - I chose the latter and am very glad I did. Everything was perfect. Taste wasn't overwhelming, just the right amount of flavor across the board. Highly recommend!!

Love the food, especially the brisket and veggies (strong recommendation for the roasted carrots). The service is attentive and knowledgeable.
The vibe is small town, but they have a great bar and local feel.
Never had a bad meal here, they are very consistent in quality. Only negative is lack of menu variety, but it is at its heart a barbecue joint, so get over it.

Amazing service and food. The only gripe is running out of brisket but we did come in pretty late. NY strip was done as ordered. St. Louis ribs was great. Nice smoke flavor and the dry rub is just perfect.
Poutine with add on of pulled pork was good, the gravy is a bit salty but it's still good. The owner came by to aolohize for the staff moving tables to get ready for the Mothers day crowd.

The Yelp! reviews steered us here, as they often do when we're looking for a great local dining option in an unfamiliar town. We were in town for a performance, and after checking in to our hotel, still had a couple hours for a nice, leisurely dinner.

Our only disappointment was when we walked in before 5:30 and discovered that they had no tables available for our party of two until after 7:30. Since our performance was at 7pm, that wouldn't work.

I'm from Alabama, home of great barbecue. THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC!!!!! We ate chopped barbecue that was moist and delicious, with no sauce whatsoever. Their brisket is amazing as well, with a delicious horseradish sauce of which I've never tasted an equal.
Their roasted vegetables were a delight, with carrots, squash, onions and zucchini all being perfectly done and out of this world!!!
If you come to northern Illinois and don't eat here, turn around and come back!

This place was amazing. Being in the middle of a town I had no clue about, Yelp reviews led me here. The inside was really nice compared to how snowy/crappy it was outside - it kind of blew me away. The place was not crowded, which I thought would be of concern. Nope. The service was great, everyone that worked there was attentive and the food was amazing. Next time I'm in town, I'm going to eat here again. It's probably one of the best spots in town.

I am from Chicago, where we have some outstanding BBQ spots. Parts of my family live in the area and are very excited about this new hot spot- So, on New Years Eve, we went! Had to get in there at 4:30 to get seated, which was ok- by the time we left at 6, people were waiting to be seated.

Ample amounts of food are served here- I had the Brisket- it was dry and chewy. The BBQ sauce was good and helped the brisket in a big way. I should have had the pulled pork, that is always an easy dish to prepare, and hard to mess up. Again, Brisket, very disappointing.
