Our office is located on the corner of Business Route 29 and Laurel Street on the south side of Culpeper within 1 block of the Culpeper Regional Hospital. It is a common misconception that 20/20 vision = Healthy eyes. However this is not necessarily the case. There are a many eye conditions and diseases that can affect or damage the eye and at least in the early stages the patient can still maintain "20/20 Vision."
Our office offers a full range of optometric services including routine and medical eye care services as well as an extensive optical with a full line of frames and cutting edge lens options. Dr. Hoover received his Bachelor of Science degree from The Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1987 and his Doctor of Optometry degree from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1991.

To accomplish this goal we believe it is of paramount importance that we see our patients as individuals with specific needs and not "one size fits all". Getting to know those needs is what allows us to provide the best solutions and answers to the questions and concerns of our patients. From the moment you enter our office and are greeted by our friendly staff, we hope you will feel at ease.

I have been sitting here for about 30 minutes. When I asked someone walking by how much longer, her response “I don’t know. He’s seeing patients. I don’t know.” Dr. Hoover is great and very thorough but the office staff is extremely rude. Especially during covid. The way they leave you standing at the front door while it’s locked is very unwelcoming. The optician is wonderful. But the office staff needs re-training.

Tried to schedule an appointment for my son and the first question is “What type of insurance does he have?” I tell the woman and she’s super nasty, “No hon, we only use them if it’s a medical reason” I explain Dr. Hoover is on my son’s list of providers, she’s annoyed and says, “Fine, let me look him up...” I said nevermind, I actually want to take my son somewhere professional.
