A native of Montreal, Robert Quilter received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Maryland. For thirty three years he worked for the Baltimore City government as an architect, design review coordinator and city planner. In 1993 he decided to venture into the antiques business as a side line.

Bringing his design expertise to the art and antiques market has proven to be a successful effort with a large and growing customer base. Upon retirement from The Baltimore City Department of Planning in 2012, Mr. Quilter purchased a former antiques shop at 829 North Howard Street on Baltimore's historic Antique Row.
