The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to apply for either a traditional headstone or marker, or a new device (available spring 2009).

Sarah L. Carter and this Funeral Home put away my mother some time ago. They were very professional and from what I heard (being so grief stricken I did not want to view my mother) but, everyone from family, friends and acquaintances that knew my mother said they put her away nice, they said she looked just like herself when she was alive. So, I was very proud of their work and service.....however there was just one thing that I didn't like or appreciate. I asked Mrs. Carter for an additional obituary at the start of my mother's memorial and I was denied one as being the daughter of the deceased

I felt as if I was in a home setting. When I walked in the door I felt a sense of peace and calmness in the environment. I've been to many funeral homes but never felt so comfortable as I did at Sarah's establishment. She herself is a warm easy to speak with lady. I loved the workmanship, the care and compassion I received during my time of loss. She and her staff have the Complete Package.
Thank you Sarah Carter's Funeral Home!

During this most difficult time in my life Sarah L. Carter was not the list bit concerned. I lost my mother on 6/29. I first contracted Sarah on 7/2 by stopping by the Northside site. No one answered the door. So we called, and we were advised that Sarah would contact us. We set an appointment for 9am on 7/3 howerver, Sarah was still unsure of this time advises us that she would call us back to definitely confirm if she would be available. She never called. The morning of 7/3 we called her again and received her answering service who advised us she would call us back. A few moments later she called
