This place failed my son.

I brought my son here to get his slight lazy eye checked out. The doctor told me I needed a referral to see a specialist at UC Davis Opthalmology. He said the waitlist was at least 6 months, up to a year. He told me not to worry if the issues worsened, if his eye went completely sideways in the meantime, don't worry just be patient. This is what the optometrist told me. As much as that statement scared me, I took his word for it.
I trusted Amador Eye Care to do their job.

Dr. Lyman really takes the time to listen and is willing to answer any questions you have. Much better than other eye exams I’ve been to. And I’ve been going to an optometrist for 20 years! The staff was also very friendly and helpful. I’ll for sure keep using them.

Terrible management, went in 2 months ago for my first ever glasses received them 2 weeks later only to find out I couldn't read the computer with them so they said they would make them into trifocals, the slit to read through was so tiny that when reading I saw blur on top 2-3 lines of clear reading then blur again. So they said give them 1 week, I actually gave it 2 but I just constantly kept getting headaches because of all the blur. They said come back in and the dr or asteroid will see what they can do to fix the situation. So I go back in and asteroid said they already fixed them once

Had an eye exam with Dr Lyman, he was friendly and made sure all tests were done. The staff, Morgan, Ally, Monica and Astra were very friendly.

They are concerned about their patients and know what they are talking about. I feel very confident that my eyes are in good hands.

Dr Garcia is wonderful. The staff has always been helpful and kind. I have three children who go to her as well. Very good with the kids.

Good doctors, terribly incompetent staff. Went specifically to get contacts, doctor recommended me a new brand and a sample to try. It didn't sit comfortably and I asked for a year supply of my regular brand. The office gave me a prescription of the new brand that didn't work for me, and to come back on a later day for the prescription with the correct brand. When I do get my preferred brand, 2 boxes of 24 contacts, one one for each eye. One box was missing 2 packs of 6.
This isn't the first bad experience I've had in my years of coming to thus lovation, but it most certainly is the last.

The staff are all super friendly with uplifting personalities. Dr. Pickens is always attentive and thorough. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Garcia is very knowledgable yet friendly, while Dr. Pickens is wise but also funny. Their office staff members have always been accommodating and professional, though some are more polite than others.

Excellent staff. Was very impressed with the selection of frames! Much better than going to a Walmart or Costco. The doctors actually care and took extra time with the exam. Will be back for sure.
