Our goal is to provide a dance home that promotes dancers to be themselves and build on their self confidence. Our dancers will have fun while learning important dance skills while thriving in a friendly atmosphere. We offer recreational classes for children of all ages! Recreational classes learn the basics and beyond and will participate in our annual dance recital in June.
Our dance teams at the Dance Garden prepare throughout the year to participate in one competition. Dancers on team are encouraged to attend conventions and take Master Classes here at the studio. Dancers must have at least 2 years dance experience and approval of instructor to join.

Services
Miss Lindsey has been instructing dance for 25 years and directing dance programs for 20. She earned her degree in Performing Arts majoring in Dance at Dean College. She did choreography for the Hudson Drama Workshop Summer programs. She is currently teaching her Little Sprouts dance class at the Shirley Public library once a month.

Little Sprouts Creative Movement class - This class is for our youngest dancers! We combine Creative Movement and Tumbling in a half hour session that meets weekly over the course of the dance year and performs in our annual dance recital in June. A typical dance year runs 10 months (September - June).
At The Dance Garden we encourage our dancers to try out as many styles of dance as possible! Tuition rates are determined by the total number of hours a dancer or family takes classes at the studio. Costumes range in price from $60 -$85 each (sometimes more for a 2 in 1). Costumes are custom ordered and if payment is not in by the due date will not be ordered with the rest of the class.
TGD (the dance garden) Dance Team is a fun way for dancers with more experience to take dance to the next level. Dancers compete in one or two competitions each season. Dancers also have the opportunity to participate in Master classes and dance conventions. We do team building activities in and out of the studio.

In one word.. The Dance Garden is amazing! Lindsey Lawrence, owner/teacher truly makes every child at every dance level feel like a confident and strong dancer. Lindsey encourages hard work and dedication combined with huge amounts of fun. The dancers are warm and welcoming to new dancers starting classes at the studio. My daughter started at The Dance Garden the day it opened and she couldn't imagine dancing anywhere else!

My daughter is going into her second year of dance with Ms. Lindsey at the Dance Garden. We are so fortunate to have found her after my daughter left the dance studio she had attended for 8 years. Her former studio was not very receptive to having a student with a new chronic illness diagnosis requiring missing parts or all of a class. She was singled out and removed from part of or all of one of her four of her recital dances. Ms. Lindsey from the start has been very warm and receptive towards my daughter from the first day. My daughter has been dancing with Lindsey for 10 years now and it has been an excellent experience for her. I can't imagine another studio/instructor giving her the ability to learn and blossom with such patience and caring as Lindsey has done. The bond they have at this point is beautiful to see and they work so seamlessly together when creating dances for competition. If you are looking for a studio that nurtures you child while teaching them then this is the place for your child. I am so thankful we found her so long ago!

My daughter is starting her fourth season dancing at The Dance Garden. She loves dancing with miss Lindsey and we love the confidence it has given her over the years. Lindsey works hard to provide a positive environment for her dancers and it shows in the way her dancers care for each other and lift each other up!

I have 3 children who dance at The Dance Garden and they all love it! The owner, Ms. Lindsey aims to keep things affordable in every way that she can. My children enjoy all their classes and have all come out of their shells thanks to Ms Lindsay’s patience and encouragement. I highly recommend this center!

My daughter has been dancing at The Dance Garden for 5 years, since she was 2! She takes classes for 5 different styles of dance and she loves them all! Miss Lindsey is a fantastic teacher and studio director! She makes her classes fun, recitals are always well put together and all the kids dance and look amazing! I couldn't imagine ever going anywhere else for dance! We love our dance family!

We love The Dance Garden. Such a beautiful well maintained studio. Ms Lindsey really goes above and beyond at everything she does for her dancers. Best part is the lessons she teaches the students about always being the bigger person in a competitive situation. Such a great example and role model.

I've been dancing with Lindsey for 5 years and she is the kindest, most loving person you'll ever meet. She really cares about each and every one of her dancers. Would definitely reccomend to anyone looking for a new studio, or looking a caring environment for the little ones to get up and move, and grow their love for dance!

Even though I just started here in January I love dancing here. This is my second year here and I'm so exicted. Miss Lindsey was so welcoming and nice when I started. The month I started was just a year after I had been diagnosed with endometriosis. At first I wasn't sure if I would be comfortable at TDG because my old studio was very rude about it, but I made some new friends the first day that were very nice. The Dance Garden is a great place to have fun, make some new friends and of course..Dance

Lindsey was my dance teacher from 5th grade till I went off to college and even let me come back to teach. It's such an honor to have my stepdaughter have her as a dance teacher because Lindsey is always been so inspiring, kind, and always made me feel like I could do anything. She was more than just a dance teacher she treated us like we were her own family and she always took care of us!!
