Services
RPA's work with us from the very start has been both creative and collaborative. They took our wish list and transformed it into a beautiful design through a shared belief that functional passive house principles are consistent with a minimalist modern aesthetic. RPA listens, and that's what sets them apart.
My wife and I wanted to build a new home that would suit us now and into retirement. I also wanted to achieve a high level of sustainability and take advantage of the latest building technology. Richard provided a clear path to meet these challenging goals and designed a home that fits perfectly in the rustic rural Pennsylvania landscape.
After the fire damaged much of the building, we committed to restore the historic structure and improve it for our business needs including an office, retail space, and a rental apartment. RPA's understanding of historic preservation guided us through the complex permit process with local officials.
Imagine living in a comfortable, modern house with no cold drafts, no temperature variations from room to room and, astoundingly, virtually no heating or cooling bills. It might sound too good to be true, but these pleasant conditions are the norm for people who live in a Passive House. A manufactured assembly of a frame, sash, glazing and necessary hardware, made to fit an opening in a wall.
Off-site Construction refers to the planning, design, fabrication, and assembly of building elements at a location other than their final installed location to support the rapid and efficient construction of a permanent structure. A building, manufactured in standardized parts or sections ready for quick assembly and erection.

Richard is the worse client I've ever had. My company was working on their 2 projects, and we haven't been paid. Furthermore, they had avoided any dialogue when I tried to solve the issue. I've asked him many times what's wrong with the renderings we made. And if he doesn't like the result of our work, I was willing to fix it for free.
But he chose to leave without paying.
