When performing a drywall patch or repair, we cover the area with plastic, square up the hole, install two 1*2 backing on the inside of the drywall hole, then measure and cut a piece of drywall, screw it in, mesh tape, apply drywall mud, wet sand it, and finally, we match the texture.
