Grand Forks ATA Martial Arts trains children and adults of all ages in the martial art of Songahm Taekwondo. We combine excellent instructors with the newest curriculum available to provide outstanding martial arts training. Songahm Taekwondo is open to everyone with no prior training or fitness level required.
The ATA Tigers have very similar belts to the juniors and adults, however, each belt color has a corresponding animal to add fun and excitement for the younger students. Cheeri (Yellow): Cheeri is the hardest worker in the class. Even though she always makes straight A's, she is always trying hard to get better, maybe sometimes too hard.
Whether you're looking for self-defense, physical fitness, or a social athletic activity, martial arts is your answer. Our school is a positive and safe environment where you can learn the rewarding art of Songahm Taekwondo with other people with similar interests. It is never too late to start training either.
Karate for Kids is an internationally recognized program and part of the American Taekwondo Association's commitment to helping kids benefit from martial arts training. We integrate traditional Songahm Taekwondo with the essential life skills necessary for your child to succeed in all of their endeavors, including: Respect, Discipline, Confidence, Bullying Prevention, and much more.
In addition to the internationally recognized Karate for Kids program, we offer the ATA Tigers program. This program offers younger children a strong foundation in essential character qualities such as courtesy, respect, and discipline, and includes bullying prevention. In addition, the program is designed to improve children's motor skills and enhance their ability to pay attention and follow directions.

ATA Helped me with self confidence and the ability to defend myself. I haven't been to a class in a while, but y'all should head over there and see them. They are wonderful people, they remember your name and they are very respectful.
They are the better places to learn self discipline in Grand Forks.

The first day I walked into ATA I was shocked that the students were responding to their instructor with “Yes, sir”, And “No, sir”. They were respectful, very respectful toward him. He wasn’t demanding or demeaning. He was kind. Kindness is something that is lacking in all of us these days.
The second day I walked into ATA he knew my name. He remembered the names of my two sons. He looked me in the eye and shook my hand like a gentleman. He smiled. He actually cared.
Master Mihalek was born to teach. His passion is Taekwondo and it shows through every single thing he says and does.
