When it comes to antiques in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ferguson's Antique Mall is more than a name, it's a tradition. It's humble beginnings started in downtown Cincinnati as Race Street Auction in 1951 and it quickly became widely known among antique collectors. Ferguson's Auction became a family affair. The Ferguson family patriarch, Mindell Ferguson and his wife and matriach of the enterprise, Helen Ferguson, were assisted by their children.
Their five children, four sons Ernest, William (Bill), John, Donald and daughter Brenda could be found helping out and eventually carrying on the family business. At Ferguson Antiques we stand behind our merchandise with a 100% guarantee. We sell quality items at the best prices in Cincinnati, have over 65 years experience, and are knowledgable about our merchandise.

I used to make stop regularly. I have not been there for a while. The brothers have owned the store. They are knowledgeable. You can get pretty good deals if you don’t offer them the price as they are the goodwills store. I seldom see they priced higher than EBay sold price. Yes, since the older brother has never recovered from his surgery,I learned to deal with the younger brother, who has little patience with ignorance. Customers have to keep in mind, he also has to make profits,to make a living, pay medical bills ,lighting and property tax. The owners do not have same benefits as Goodwills

Here are the facts: John is my dad and this review will be fair and honest.
This antique shop began with three siblings, and he is the only one left of the three. Since he was around 10 years old, his parents and siblings ran a twice weekly auction and it morphed through many permutations into the antiques shop you see today.
Admittedly, John Ferguson is not warm and cuddly. He is approaching 80 years of age in August, 2020, and suffers from several physical ailments, including chronic pain.
What some think is rudeness, is due to his inability to hear what you are saying to him, or he may be

He seemed very rude to me and my mother (Keep in mind im 13) im young and want to get into this hobby he seemed to my a little supportive but not really. I brought in some vintage bottles I found to get appraised and he bought a Noxzema jar off of me for 2$ which is about face value considering the color hes trying to sell it for like 6 or 8 dollars Way more than face value. People think that just because im 13 I don't know a lot about bottles. But I have a pretty decent collection of JUST BOTTLES I HAVE FOUND IN CREEKS IN THE MIDDLE OF MY TOWN DELHI. I found a blob top cincinnati soda in an inner

It is a store run by one guy And not a bunch of vendors. It’s so over crowded with junk that you legitimately can not walk around. Half the store is actually blocked off and all the cases are inaccessible and you can’t even look into them. I know this sounds like it’s exaggerated but it’s not.
The guy is also just not helpful. He is admittedly old so there isn’t much that he can do, but he doesn’t make the shopping or buying experience any easier. Makes no real effort in moving anything out of the way or even trying to open a container even though you are willing to buy the item inside

Ferguson's Antiques is loaded with gems. John Ferguson has impeccable taste, an insane collection, and offers a FAIR price. He doesn't have time for jerks throwing insulting low ball offers at him, as he knows the history, does his research and again only asks a fair price. He has been in the business a long time, has had many stores and loves what he does. This is a great resource for an interior designer or prop shopper. Yes, his store is crowded, that is part of the fun! I bought a gorgeous chest of drawers there from the 1920's for $80! Easily worth $400!

Too bad, this could be a great place. Things are piled on top of and in front each other ruining the ability to shop. This is not the only issue with this location the one brother is rude. (The store is run by three brothers.) My partner wanted a print and asked how much, the one gave a price, when my partner countered the offer the brother said have a good day and took the print. He basically told us to get out. We will never return. Well maybe someday when they auction everything off inside. Great stuff but buried.....you've been warned.
