Canisius High School is a Catholic, Jesuit, college-preparatory school in Buffalo, New York founded in 1870 for boys in grades 9 through 12. At Canisius, you'll find a challenging curriculum that provides a broad range of course offerings, including honors and Advanced Placement courses, complemented by a host of enriching electives.
We offer students participation in inter-scholastic sports as well as dozens of music ensembles, teams, and clubs. At the heart of it all is a commitment to Christian service in the Jesuit tradition, designed to instill the desire to become a "Man for Others" in each and every graduate.

Services
Through the service program, Canisius students learn that their experiences of service to others are as valuable for their growth as their time in the classroom.
From freshman service days, where students spend a school day helping local community organizations, the Companions program where juniors can go on extended service immersion trips, and the Fourth Day retreat - an optional service retreat for seniors - students are invited to many experiences of service over their four years at Canisius.

At Canisius, students come first. The rigorous academic program prepares young men for college. The diverse extracurricular programs engage the mind and body. And, the mission of the school - to create "Men for Others" - inspires the spirit. A Canisius student is one who excels in the classroom, on the athletic field or stage, and in his community.

Both of my sons graduated from Canisius HighSchool. Best school ever. Great experience. No student left behind. Teachers , guidance counslors and staff work hand in hand for the success of all students. Retreats community work and high expectations help make a well rounded successful man ready for college along with life long friendships in four short years. Worth every dollar....

I am here to cheer on my husband as he runs the Canisius Chilly Challenge 5K. The course is a "right turns only" rectangle starting and ending in front of the high school. The post race party is in the newly built gymnasium.
Runners, volunteers and guests were treated to delicious chili, both with meat and without. The chilies were accompanied by shredded cheddar cheese, hot pepper flakes, chopped scallions and, of course, saltine crackers.
There are 2 long tables set up; no waiting. Catering by Joe's Deli
As this is a high school, there is no beer. There is water, soda pop, cookies
