Housed in 10,000 square feet of renovated warehouse space at the intersection of 17th and Smallman streets, Mahla & Co Antiques opened its doors in 1995. The shop is family owned and operated like many businesses in Pittsburgh's historic Strip District. Owner Sue Cosgrove's mother, entrepreneur Elizabeth Mahla, started the business hoping an Antique Shop would be a wonderful addition to the eclectic Strip businesses.
Twenty five years later and still going strong proves she was right! With 20 knowledgeable Antique Dealers displaying their inventory throughout the showroom, the selection is as varied as it's customers. At any given time, over 50,000 items representing a cross section of eras from the 17th through 20th centuries adorn the warehouse.

I love looking through this antique shop in the Strip! If you turn right at Wholey's and head toward Smallman Street, there is a little unassuming entrance for the store. The ladies who work there are super nice and explained where to start walking through. The showrooms are huge and the ceilings are high. You would never realize you are in the Strip District. I loved looking at the furniture from the 70's and 80's. They have a good selection of items priced high and low. The furniture and artwork tend to be expensive, but the fur coats and vintage clothes I was looking at seemed

Mahla & Co. Antiques was a refreshing stop after strolling down the strip on a warm spring day. I was greeted by two women at the front that explained the layout of the shop. There are two big rooms filled to the brim with antiques from all periods. The store was well organized with enough room to walk around without the fear of accidentally knocking something over. It wasn't crowded nor musty like a lot of antique shops I've visited. Everything was polished and pristine. I saw a little bit of everything including a lot of beautiful glassware and furniture. If I had more time I could

Wow! This place has it all! Stopped in while strolling through the strip...my friend spotted it so she bee-lined to the door. Glad she did, because in their nicely laid out shop there is everything you could look for! Artwork, prints, furniture, nick-knacks, vintage clothing...and so much more! My meager words fail to describe it...so go there and check it out. Awesome!

There are so many things to look at in a few different rooms. Every area is staged beautifully and even though the space is big and there are so many old things, everything is VERY clean, and in good condition. There is a wide variety of unique vintage finds. Large jewelry selection, lots of glassware (my favorite things to collect), interesting vintage eyewear, strange oddities that you wouldn't see in most antique stores. I would say this store feels a bit upscale with the prices, but there are also good deals to be found. Definitely give yourself at least an hour to look around if you&apos

I'm not a big antique shopper but my mom is and she saw this cute little shop and had to stop in. The staff was very nice and accommodating even though I wasn't dressed up nice (I was in sweats). From what my mom told me the prices on dolls were reasonable. I ended up going back purchasing a specific doll for her and the staff made sure it was carefully wrapped up so I could transport it. They had a variety of items and different dealers within the store-decor, clothes, furniture, and collectibles.

This is the nicest antique store I have ever visited. Everything is high quality (and unfortunately, high priced). It is quite a large space and very nicely decorated. Apparently individual sellers rent spaces, but it doesn't feel like a flea market at all. It all flows nicely and feels more like a museum as sections tend to be from a specific era (1960's for example). I love taking visitors here to just browse, but they also have a great selection of lamps and other things that fit well within an apartment. There are always people available to help and they are very friendly.

Large store of high end furniture appears to come from the mansions of pittsburgh. on saturday in july ---they had sidewalk sale---------great prices less than $5 ---------inside they have sections devoted to mid century modern, turn of the century, art work, glassware, etc....some bargains intermixed with expensive items. plan on spending at least 1/2 hr.
