Reiki is a form of alternative medicine developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist, Miko Usui. Since its beginning in Japan, Reiki has been adapted across varying culture traditions. It uses a technique commonly called palm healing or hands-on-healing. Through light touch using the palms and transferring of "universal energy, " Dr. Guy, a reiki master, will encourage healing.
The word "chakra" has Hindu (Sanskrit) roots and means "wheel or disc." All living creatures have chakras. These energy vortexes are the channels through which energy flows. Chakras are "entry gates" of the aura (our personal energy field that surrounds us). There are seven main chakras located around the central line of the body, from the base of the spine to the top of the head.
Biofeedback is a technique that trains people to improve their health by controlling certain bodily processes that normally happen involuntarily, such as heart rate, blood pressure, muscle tension, and skin temperature. Dr. Guy will apply electrodes to your fingers to assist in measuring these processes, which will be displayed on a monitor.
