I called for a reservation and they confirmed that they offer military discount. When we got there, they said not in holidays. We got a premium site, not sure what is premium about. Site is not paved, nothing but a picnic table. Not impressed. The pool was ok. The kids enjoyed that. Mosquitoes are unbearable at any time. Phone and wifi reception are bad. The state park down the road is way better.

This was an overnighter for us, but after being near Brownsville for 8 months it was really nice to see shade trees. The campground is on a lake. They have paddleboats, and fishing is allowed.. We had a long, level, gravel site. The tv reception was great. If we're ever in this area again, we'd like to spend some time at this campground.

Loved this place! What a hidden gem in Mathis, Texas! Clean, well kept, and super friendly folks...lots of squirrels, bunnies, birds n butterflies. Paddle boats, fishing pier, clean pool... just can't say enough how much we enjoyed our stay. We appreciate the kid friendly atmosphere. Also no loose dogs THANK YOU for my stress free morning run around the RV Park w no dogs chasing me! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!

We stopped in to check out this resort,on our way to Lake Corpus Christi state park, back in 2007...it's now 2015 and we are still here! If you like the wilderness, birds, animals, butterflies, plants and trees, this is your place. The sites are mostly all gigantic and each one seems to be different from the next. It's a wilderness resort so in keeping with that theme, the roads are mostly gravel and bumpy but who cares? If you drive the posted speed limit and take time to look for all the fauna, you won't notice the bumps. There are 3 fishing lakes where some monster fish reside

What a great place! I'm not sure if I had more fun participating in all of the great activities they had going on while we were here (the pancakes at the Saturday morning breakfast were YUMMY!) OR taking in all of the wildlife! Birds! Butterflies! Fish! Javelinas! The place is like Dr. Doolittle's Ranch! LOL!
Seriously, though... this is a really welcoming park that's in a more remote and beautiful part of Texas. Not far from Corpus Christi and the whole "Coastal Bend" area. So there's lots of stuff to do AROUND the park as well as in it!
